Now that SW for all 3 regions is out....there are some STRIKING things.

First of all MGS4 OUTSELLs MGS3's opening week by 500K.....this is astounding & shows that MGS4 has great days ahead.....also MGS4 will have better legs due to it being the best PS3 exclusive out right now.

Also it is in Europe where MGS4 sells the LEAST in it first week...this was the most shocking turn of events for the region that has so far been the jewel in the crown for the sales of the PS3.

So will MGS4 OUTSELL MGS3?

Will it touch the sales of the legendary MGS2?

Will EUROPE FAIL in Selling more MGS4 copies than Japan in the long run?

Anyway, i am very surprised at the Japan numbers, it's insane especially looking at the install base. I expect huge drop next week ,, but this is really a good sign. Sony really needs to focus on that country, they are starving very good games.

MGS4 sales are almost identical to MGS3 sales in Japan & Europe - its the US where the extra units were sold. And the sales for MGS3 in the US spiked 3-4 weeks after its release.

All the figures we have, show that MGS4 is selling somewhere between MGS2 & MGS3. As always - its the NEXT couple of weeks that will be telling.

That said - you should be focusing on HARDWARE sales. MGS + bundles + vouchers + 80gig (etc) has caused a very significant spike in worldwide PS3 sales.

If you look at past sales trends, MGS is much more front loaded in Japan. MGS3 fell very fast after a couple weeks. In America it started slow, I'm not sure why. I'd guess America will have a more front loaded selling pattern for MGSIV.
