I don't think its a question of developers needing time to see that the Wii will prove itself, its that developers simply don't want the wii to win and would rather support two consoles that sell themselves as "developers consoles".

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that point, then. But I was serious about the Galaxy part. Give me details, dammit!

I thought Mayamota (Mayamoto? Don't know how to spell it. The guy who made mario and link and pikmin and Nintendogs and Wii Fit) said that SMG was fun to make and if it did well he would consider making a sequal due to the engine already being made. I would love that; just add some a few big free roaming worlds to explore this time guys!
360 could win, but they need an $100 price cut and not have too much support be announced for Wii, so it's unlikely.
Nintendo will win E3.
Damn things have changed since 2009 began. Here are my new visions for the end of the generation.
Wii: 135 mil
Ps3: 85 mil
360: 60 mil
@ leo-J - How would FF win it for Sony? Yeah, new footage and a date would be golden but we all know it's coming already, so it wouldn't have any 'OMFG' value.
@Konnichiwa - Yeah! That would win it.

Ah, thanks. And it's "Miyamoto" (just a letter off). And to be honest, I rather doubt even the price cut could let the 360 win. They said in the last week that they had some "aces up their sleeves" for E3, but the weekend leak showed that their pocket aces amount to making their system the Mii Too. They probably still have at least one more thing that hasn't been revealed yet, but in the end it seems the journalist who wrote that their E3 would be "interesting" and "just a little desperate" was spot on.
And I don't think Microsoft can afford a price cut just yet, let alone a $100 one: Microsoft Corporation is hemorraghing money right now, and some investors are calling for the end of the X-Box line because it hasn't proven to be profitable. Mind you, Microsoft has a history of making highly questionable business decisions, so they might go ahead and announce a price cut anyways (we gamers would certainly be the winners there
).
There may well be a lot of focus on Wii Music this E3, and that will probably be a pretty big seller across the Wii demographic.

Hmm. hopefully Microsoft doesn't leave. I would rather their be two console makers so there are fewer consoles to buy/more games on my console of choice, but I know that if Micrsoft steps out Apple will step in...
I think this year is Nintendo's year. They have their momentum, still have casual and lots of hardcore games left. Next year should be good too, but if 3rd parties don't start jumping onboard, next year will be tougher for Wii... they could still make Pikmin and Star Fox and Zelda and Galaxy 2 and Disaster and Geist 2 and Mario Party 10:Ultimate Anniversary Edtion, and Tetris Wii and Nintendogs Wii for casuals, but... actaully, never mind. Nintendo will be fine, 3rd party support or not.
All Nintendo has to do is show up. That alone is a show stopper.
