Forums - Sony - Sony's Next (Wii-type) Controller?

Original, but useless. I don't understand why everyone must copy Nintendo this generation... Yes, the Wii is kicking everybody's butt, but you won't win the console war by lackluster copy efforts... It's too little too late, it just makes you look sad.

i just have to say this....most of the people that are all over this are the same ones that were completely against the wii mote from the start......just have to point that out guys

I would break a remote like that in a matter of hours... this remote PHAILS

To be perfectly fair, unless Sony actually announces "yes, we're really developing this!" I think it's fair to save any bashing for the controller itself and leave Sony out of it.
And for the record, I think it's a good concept, not perfect, not without flaws, but it's a far better attempt to implement this on the existing controller than I've seen from anyone else.

Seppukuties is like LBP Lite, on crack. Play it already!

Currently wrapped up in: Half Life, Portal, and User Created Source Mods
Games I want: (Wii)Mario Kart, Okami, Bully, Conduit,  No More Heroes 2 (GC) Eternal Darkness, Killer7, (PS2) Ico, God of War1&2, Legacy of Kain: SR2&Defiance

My Prediction: Wii will be achieve 48% market share by the end of 2008, and will achieve 50% by the end of june of 09. Prediction Failed.

Wow it breaks in half so you have something for each hand. This is nothing like a Wii Remote and a Nunchuck though. Also really think about how awkward it would be to have half a PS controller in each hand. Not as comfortable as a controller shaped like a mini remote control or a mini nunchuck is it?

Interesting concept, but they left out one key element - gamers are not the neatest/cleanest people in the world. So after eating that cheeseburger, your fingers are covered in grease, which gets all over the controls. In turn, they lube up the magnets that allow for breakaway, and in 2 months, the magnets no longer function properly and now you can't reconnect them.

Why do engineers have to ignore product functionality in a real time environment? For as smart as engineers are, they're pretty dumb sometimes =)

Wii-mote, X-mote and now... P-mote?

Wouldn't the world be a better place if all 3 were innuendo for urine.

Yer it's crap - sony are clueless they have not even managed to get developers to use the motion sensing in the sixaxis properly what hope is there for someting more complex !
Also ultrasonics are absolute rubbish the person who came up with this piece of junk is a retard- this is vapor wear for sure.

actually looks pretty clever, breaks apart into 2 motion senstive parts. i doubt its real, but its a clever idea nonetheless
