Forums - Gaming - Do you think R* should make a Wii version of GTAIV?

BTW, it doesn't matter if Bully sold better on which system. It's still not a good gauge for if the Wii is ready for a GTA game to sell. Bully is not part of the franchise. Rockstar should actually put a game from that franchise on the Wii to see if it will sell. Even if it's a waggle port. Some complain of those, but Capcom seems pleased with a waggle port of RE4, and is giving the Wii support for that.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

@Montana: I did have a point, look at all the trolls that came all of a sudden. Even permabanned members with alt accounts, viral marketers and first time posters.

I didn't just say that because I wanted to, but because it's obvious that Wii haters are around everywhere. Someone can only hate the Wii because he's jealous or insecure about his console.

I doubt anyone is jealous of the wii or insecure. You,I'm not so sure about, since you feel the need to strongly defend your console of choice.

Hahaha, you called the Wii the console of pre-teen girls, soccer moms, old retired men and babies.

You are just wishing no core game goes to the Wii, so you have to convince yourself the Wii isn't for the core gamer. Too bad, games are already coming. I'm more than happy with my Wii.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Lightening - Look at GTA SA and GTA VC in Japan... SA is less but I don't know how the Japanese view American gangsta's. I'd figure that'd be the reason for that one.

Anyways they are pretty close to 500k

I'm sure after Japans release GTA4 will be over 12mil (christmas push too)

wow, this thread is for wii owners, but yet all the ps3/360 have been the ones posting here

It would cost them considerable amounts of money, besides the wii=XBOX interms of raw power, you wouldnt be seeing anything pretty visually, that was the only good thing in GTA 4, and even that stunk.

*sigh* No it doesn't.

There was a bad report that came out just prior to Wii's release where a developer claimed Wii= Xbox graphically but he made 2 very huge mistakes.

1. He based it on prelimenary dev kits which were basically GC kits with motion controls.

2. He completely left out the TEV unit.  Hhe also claimed Wii couldn't do programmable shaders.  This is incorrect as the TEV unit handles them just fine.   Currently only one Wii game takes advantage of the TEV unit and that's Super Mario Galaxy.   Bump mapping, normal maping, HDR, bloom lighting, specular highlights, etc...

I can go into more detail if required but I'll simply ask that you never repat that fallacious bit of data ever again.

GTAIV-story-expansion of a ported GTAIII engine would be nice.

I agree with everything except that. It should be a new engine built for the wii.

And I agree with you (that it would be nice), but it's not going to happen

I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
