Forums - Nintendo - The Conduit (New Info)

@Omoneru

Why not give them a chance? Those games aren't anywhere nearly as ambitious as the Conduit, and most of them probably had to be done within a certain deadline. That's what some crappy publishers do--they give you six months to complete a game no questions asked, especially for games like Family Guy, Ben 10, and Billy & Mandy.

Just give them the benefit of the doubt. Why be pessimistic?

I hope Nintendo doesn't publish this game beacuse if they do the usual PS360 fanboys will say the following thing.

"only firstparty games sells on the Wii"

 I was thinking the exact same thing.  The best case scenario is a competent publisher is chosen by HVS and puts some marketing muscle behind it.  I'm scared Nintendo may pull another Metroid Prime 3 with this one and pull another airport lay-over ad or some shit.  In any event, I feel HVS will put the game in the hands of a publisher on their own terms and discuss at length they type and amount of marketing the game should receive.

There's no way this game can't do at least Metroid Prime 3: Corruption numbers.  In fact, that would be a great success.  But I do agree with Naum, it would be a better look for it to do well with a 3rd party publisher rather than Nintendo - though in the end, I wouldn't care either way so long as the game is awesome - and I'm optimistic it will be.

Great info, look forward to more news on this game

@Raichu

>> Some of those games are liscened kiddy crap games

Look at their entire release history.

There's almost nothing really good title came out of them except port.

What lead you to believe that a studio that has been releasing "liscened kiddy crap games" (in your words) suddenly turn into a AAA developer?

"It's because I want it to be good!" isn't really convincing.

>> so what you are saying is not changing anyone's mind

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind.

I'm saying their release history is quite simply discouraging, which seems to be sort of a fact. That's why I was wondering where your optimism was coming from.

If you don't care about the fact and do want to get hyped up about it no matter what, good for you. Keep it up.

@Hyperion

Release history is often a good indicator of what's going to come out from the studio. But sure, sometimes, it's not. So yes, they should be given a chance.

It just that it seemed to be another hyped-up game that would end up disappointing core gamers. You know, people keep doing this - hype it up, play it, get disappointed, whine on game forum, claim death of Wii imminent.

If not, that would be great. More power to HVS. We'll see.

No, it's not going to stop  'Til you wise up
No, it's not going to stop  So just ... give up

^Actually, that issue has already been brought up before in VGC when this game was first announced, but most (decided to) overlook it. Whether this game will live up to its hype or not has yet to be confirmed, but for now, I suppose we could give them the benefit of doubt.

Afterall, so far they have at least been making consistent efforts to develop the game (unlike certain third-parties developers) and it seems that they are delivering what they intend to and what they said they would. My eyes can't really tell, but some people here are saying that the (technical) side of the graphic looks pretty good so far.

Personally, I hope this game will be good and will sell well. But whether it's going to be good or not, there probably will be a whole bunch of threads about this game in the when it's released... *sigh* (another fad confirmed)

This is their first, original, in-house IP. Not saying it will be good - but they are experienced developers - and it should have a chance at least.

What sort of scores will people be happy with? 80%? 85?

75%+ Which is above average.

I'm hoping it scores higher than 80% on average. That would be great.

Graphics look pretty good and it should sell good considering how much Red Steel sold. But why no split screen multiplayer?
