There was a point when every single game was casual. The NES only had 2 fucking buttons. It wasn't until later consoles ended up with 14 buttons that the casuals got scared away and many of the people left decided to become elitist scum.


Also, I think Sony's casual success with the PS2 was more in their marketing than in their actual games.

This reminds me of Penny Arcade's 4-parter "The Sucking." Haha, I'm gonna post that in a new thread.
