Forums - Gaming - does MGS4 have better graphics then crysis?

So...as you can see, the ps3 is as good as a top-end PC, but the developers don't really know how to use it at it's full capacity. Remember that the best PC made in the entire world uses the PS3's processor...link here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Roadrunner and the memory that the ps3's video card (RSX) uses is XDR (also named Xtreme DDR)...that combines DDR 2 memory with GDDR 4 memory and it is better than DDR3...link here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XDR_DRAM
and here: http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/10/05/forget-ddr3-fastest-dram-xdr

Also notice that THE CELL (the ps3's CPU) is capable of rendering graphics ALONE, without the video card...link HERE: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/80704.html

So PC fanboys, as you can see, the PS3 is waaaaay more better than almost any PC that you can buy for now.
Are you thick? Top Pc's use Cell. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Both Intel and AMD had Cpu's that outperformed the cell before it came out. As it stands now Intel are so far in front of the cell in speed it's embarrasing. Also the future of the CPU is to intergrate the GPU into it. PC gamers will never use the cell why? It doesnt have enough General purpose processing. DX10 is built to go hand in hand with GPPThe cell's performance in the PC market would be considerably bad. Go look for yourself. Go to Intels latest processors and see what figures they are kicking around.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Hell no.

In some parts YES it does, there are no pre rendered scenes in mgs4, the character models defenitly look better in mgs4, and so do the vehicles, and so does the EGG cutscene, which is rendered in game. Environments definatly not, but MGS4 is the best looking game on the PS3.

Nothing is pre rendered in crysis either.

"the character models look better in mgs4. "

Here are some character models in crysis.

Here are character models in MGS4

Which are more detailed? Obviously crysis.

Characters in the MGS4 pics are way to far IMO to be able to judge ...

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Crysis looks better...

Taking Crysis at close to what its capable of looking at (which seems to me only fair way of looking at it rather than banging on about lower spec PCs) vs MGS4 then obviously Crysis has overall better graphics. MGS4 does look good though, particularly many of the character models.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

(Don't know if I already posted here or not. Sorry if I did)
Short answer: no
Long answer: no way

MGS4 does have the best graphics of any console game though

Not trying to be a fanboy. Of course, it's hard when you own the best console eve... dang it

See the real question is which looks better, Crysis or Reality?

Lol that is the funniest thing I've heard. While XDR is fast in terms of clock speed it has so much latency that there is far less bandwidth than that of a pcs gpu memory. Even if it were faster it wouldn't be about to compensate for the ps3 having far less ram. Also RSX is equivalent to a 7800gtx. That is about a year and a half old, and their are current gpus that output about 4 times that. The cell wouldn't help graphics rendering in the way you are wishing to. The additional advantage would be small. Also I don't know what you are talking about combining DDR2 ram with GDDR4? That makes no sense at all.

Is more like a 7800GT with the bandwidth of a 7600GT...

is the 7800gtx good?
