Kojima blockbuster only the start of exclusive "software avalanche"
The launch of the brilliant MGS4 is "only the beginning" of a rush of triple-A PS3-exclusives, says Sony's seemingly pleased VP of product marketing, Scott Steiner.

With some of the console's big titles like Gran Turismo 5: Prologue, GTA IV and Singstar now out the door, Steiner paints a positive picture for PS3 owners for the rest of the year.

"This is only the beginning of an ongoing software avalanche for PS3 that includes titles such as LittleBigPlanet, SOCOM: Confrontation, MotorStorm Pacific Rift and Resistance 2 that only PS3 owners will be able to exclusively enjoy," said Steiner.

He also hopes MGS4 will encourage some of the millions of hibernating PS2 fans to come out the woodwork and grab a PS3.

------------------------------------------------------

what do you think of his words? do you feel that mgs4 is a start of a software avalanche this year, with games like little big planet, socom, resistance 2, motorstorm 2(which will sell million in 1st week) not to mention many others, if only valkyre chronicles and white knight story make it out before years end in the west, that would be ace. plus at e3 sony obviously will have some suprises this year. oh and the prologue car track, online and damage update is also worth to note. could be or could be not?

So, four games is an avalanche now :P, well after this sentence:

"He also hopes MGS4 will encourage some of the millions of hibernating PS2 fans to come out the woodwork and grab a PS3. "

I know he is only j/k...

Why just j/k?   He is hoping it;..He doesn't state it as a fact;..  And it is not a strange thought that some of the millions of PS2 owners will think about buying a PS3 now and eventually do it.

A avalanche of exclusivities would be wrong but their are a lot of games coming and I am sure the most PS3 owners have to made decisions of witch game they will buy or not because they don't have the money for all of them.

saints rows 2 is multiplatform?

anyway i see multiple multiplatform titles

An avalanche is just a bunch of tiny snowballs all falling down at the same time right?

Massive amounts of shovelware confirmed for PS3 this year!

Yeah, PR spins for the win. That being said, I am definitely looking forward to LittleBigPlanet and Resistance 2. Honestly nobody has that strong of a lineup this Fall, but Sony's is slightly better than MS's. Gears of War 2 will be the biggest game this fall though.

Who knows what Nintendo has up their sleeve.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
