GT5p sold 384k first week and this time without Spain figures so MGS4 may do much lower then Japan 1st week which is amazing. Over 2 million SW WW is now imposible. Vgcharts really need to find better sources before predicting 1.3 million a day figure. Man it destroyed PS3 fans hope.

Not too bad, but nothing on the charts strikes me as particularly impressive tbh. We're approaching the slow months of the year and it shows.

Metal gear solid 4 beaten by all the versions of Lego Indiana jones!!!!!!

For a moment i though it was beaten by single version of the game, still pertty bad sales. I wish the numbers were avaible but it seem like we will only get numbers from UK and Italy charts.

Good result for MGS4 in Finland beating games that have 2 weeks for sales.

Well, with a drop off of only 9% I estimate LIJ All Formats at a little over 100k in the UK this week, so MGS4 with 122k wasn't massively ahead there. I'm still surprised that it happened in Denmark though. PS3 exclusives seem to be in the Danish charts more often than many other countries. In Finland (where PS3 exclusives don't seem to chart as much as Denmark) MGS4 first week beats first two weeks of LIJ. Still, we only get Top 10 for Finland compared to Top 20 for Denmark, so it's possible PS3 games have been charting similar to Denmark in 11th -20th but we don't see it.

Denmark is a bigger market than Finland for the PS3:

Denmark: 50,000 (through 2007)

Finland: 35,000 (Mid February)

Without data for the other consoles I don't know which country PS3 has the largest market share.

The fact that Lego comes from Denmark may explain a few things too ...

Hideo Kojima's critically acclaimed Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) for PlayStation 3 has debuted at number one in the overall Australian game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia. MGS4 faced stiff competition from other big games to come out last week from the likes of Ninja Gaiden II on Xbox 360 and Okami for the Wii.

The Wii Play bundle remains at number two for the week of June 9-15, while last week’s numero uno--Mario Kart Wii--dropped into third. Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures for the PS2 can be found in the fourth spot, while Wii Fit remains in fifth from the previous week. Temco's Xbox 360 game--Ninja Gaiden II--only managed to make it into the sixth position during its first week of sales.

On the PC front, The Sims 2 continues to maintain its hold over the PC charts, with a massive seven out of the 10 games being Sims 2 titles.
