isnt this the week MGS 4 is released?

Weird. I'd hope it's due to the bundle... it seems like the opposite of GTA4 and other big games afterall.

Most of the time sales for the consoles goes UP right before the big exclusive game... not down... even with huge effective 100 dollar pricecuts from the nations biggest retailer.

If anybody is buying a PS3 for MGS4, then they'd be idiots to buy it before June 12th. I can't say I expected numbers to improve this week if they've been like this for a couple weeks.

Uh, not necessarily. I think the important thing to look for is the effect of the bundle next week. Now I don't think it's going to propel the console to 100k magically in the US, but I fully expect the bundle to push the PS3 past the 360. If MGS4 is going to push consoles leading up to release, they might as well wait for a PS3 that has the game they want. It's only a 35 dollar price difference, and the HDD and software BC pretty much makes up for that. So why buy it now when you can get a much better package the following week?

I have an odd feeling you are all setting yourselves up for a rather large fall...

PS3 sales next week may be +100k on this week - but the week after that? +50k? And after that?

MGS4 is no GTA... I still think most MGS fans already own a PS3.
