Sometime a game is hyped far beyong and people predictions are not based on reality but fanboyism.. I was just checking Ninja Gaiden 2 prediction thread and most of them were predicting above 400k WW.. but not it look like it will hardly manage 200k...

Then we have MGS4 coming over in couple of days and peoply are predicting 1.2 - 1.5 M WW.. and i wander if it will even reach a 750k WW.... although no matter wot numbers come out, these fanboys are gonna spin them in some positive way... 

So i have decided to have a Thread in which i will like to have an opinion of non-fanboys about which game they think was a disappointment and then finally we will vote for the epic disappointing game in terms of sales and sales only.

Dissapontments in sales: none as I can think of.

Some titles should have it due to quality, but they didn't deserve any more sales, as most of them have a lack of marketing/bad box arts and such.

Almost all the sales this generation have been deserved.

And for crying out loud! Stop calling people fanboys in the OP and calling it "a no fanboy thread", it makes the situation at least 1.3 times worse.


Also, we predict for fun. I know that normally when I predict, I overestimate a bit, because it's a bit more fun that way.

Other people lowball on purpose, so they won't be dissapointed.

PS3 hardware sales will hit 600k worldwide for the MGS 4 launch week. MGS 4 sells 3 million copies first week.

I really don't understand why people can be dissapointed in game sales.

Game can be amazing, but if marketting drops the ball or is game ahead of its time (aka. the Sega syndrome) it will sell like shit. This has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the game, hence how can you be dissapointed?

Are you people gamers or business major university students?

Ninja Gaiden 2 is not dissapointing as a game no matter how you spin it. Sales wise...I guess it could have done better if it had a sandbox element, unbalanced online fight mode, mulitplayer map downloads. But who cares? That would have ruined the game...

As a gamer, the only games that dissapointed me this gen have been Army of 2, Sonic the Hedgehog (360)...thats all I can think of.

Definitely agree with this post. I don't really care how well a game sells as long as I'm one of those who get to experience the quality of the game because I only buy quality titles.

Oh my god how very dare you suggest such sales for MGS4. Kojima said himself that the preorders in the UK are huge, so i am expecting everywhere else to follow in the same direction, how huge i dont know.

There are precious few, if any, games this gen that have sold less than I expected.

400K WW as a LTD for NG2? What? It will do well over that when it's all said and done.
