Well could be anything but some comments could be made:
1) Saving up all consoles to combine it with Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
2) Making room for a new bundle with DualShock 3 (I'm not thinking about 80 GB, I still feel that they will come with the message of software emulation.) Allthough every store has got major issues to get rid of the SIXAXIS controllers - pricedrops to be expected.
3) Less likely but the sudden announcement of a 80 GB bundle after the 1st of July together with Dual Shock 3.

@ conair, they have launched a dual pack so, 2 sixaxis for £5 more than just one

@blazin: I don't think they get rid of 40GB. This model helped them a lot in getting out of last position. Plus I think we what know some rumors if this was true. Before 40GB was introduced we got ten or more unofficial info that new model is coming.

@ kamil, many places are short of 40GB stocks, so a may model may be coming soon

@Munkeh: I'm not saying there won't be a new model but the 40GB is going to stay in Europe (with MGS4 pack-in or any other configurations).

The old bundles are no longer available but its not sold out. You can easily find a PS3 anywhere online and in stores anywhere since launch.

They just took the old bundles off of the website, probably put new ones up.

 In the UK, Amazon, play and game were all out of stock when I checked earlier today

Well they are instock at Amazon.co.uk and The premotion at Play.com has ended.
