Forums - Gaming - LucasArts to Halt Internal Development After The Force Unleashed?

WTF? why!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Yeah, whatever.

They once were such a great games company, but they destroyed their once highly deserved fame for no reason already years ago.

The ironic part is that George Lucas is so rich that LucasArts woud be the only 3rd party company in the world that wouldn't have to look at sales figures. They could make games for every niche they ever want without caring for the number of copies sold.

Where are their adventures :( Those rocked

They abandoned point&click adventures in 2000. They were the world's best p&c adventure company for more than one decade.

And where are Tie Fighter, X-Wing and other great filght simulations? They gave up every niche 10 years ago, followed the mainstream and success and cult status were lost. It's sad.

@ okr: And I heard they were planning on breaking back into the p&c genre (adventure at least)... hmmm :-/

What about Clone Wars?????? I thought that was internally developed!

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

@papflesje:
I didn't believe the recent news about reviving adventures when I read in the same news that one of their producers said that they don't believe that ports of their old(!) adventures fit on one DS cartridge. (I have 5 of my own old LA adventures - incl. all the speech files - on one R4 card and play them on DS).

Lies and empty promises, that's what fans of their old-school games hear from LucasArts since 2000.

Now that must be very good news for the guys currently working there. Guess they would be highly motivated to give the best effort on the current Star Wars game....

As long as they continue to publish Star Wars games (battlefront III!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) then I am happy. However, I am slightly concerned about the quality of the Force unleashed, I hope they do get it done properly
