I don't think that the sales will be Mario Kart high, but they will be high. Something like 5 million. It will proably outsell my prediction. Wii games usually do.

Apparently Sluggers supports wiimote-only control, NES pad-style sideways wiimote control, and wiimote + nunchuk control. This suggests that the complexity of the game is variable and you can have more or less control depending on your preference.
