Forums - Sales Discussion - What 3rd party games will reach that legendary 10million mark?

Well pretty much all know that GTAIV and CODIV will hit 10million+ sold lifetime. They've both sold over 9 million copies.

So which future games do you think will be good enough to go into the hall of fame for this gen as legendary sellers?

The only possibility I can think of are: Star wars - Force unleased - all platform looks like an awesome game.

Its hard, there aren't many games that crack the magic 10million, but surely theres the chance another one or two games released this year will eventually hit that magic mark?

Edit: Guitar Hero III has hit 11 million sales! On 4 consoles, Impressive!!!

Tease.

In one console only? Nothing

Sonic & Mario at the Olympic Games is a definite possibility if it gets a large boost from the '08 Olympics.

Guitar Hero IV, if it releases on the PS2 as well. Maybe without it too. Who knows.

^^

he's talking all consoles

On Topic:

- Any Grand Theft Auto Sequel for obvious reasons
- Guitar Hero 4 because its popular, and will be for all 3 consoles

I don't think many others, 10 mil is tough

Edit: GH4 i should've said all 4 consoles because of PS2

i think GH3 and M&S will reach 10 mil,also maybe GH4

Yeah you're right! It could see a massive boost, so whens the Olympics again anyway? Lol

Guitar Hero IV - Yep thats a definate possiblity there. It just sells and sells and it has huge legs. Whens it gonna be released anyway?

BTW, this is for all consoles im not talking about console wars, just total game sales whereever they come from.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympics will not reach 10 million. Guitar Hero III has ALREADY hit 10 million. GTA IV will. COD 4 has a decent chance. As of now that is all the games we can reasonably predict to hit 10 million.

Unless Star Wars: The Force Unleashed gets phenomenal reviews and amazing word of mouth, it won't even reach 5 million on all systems.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

M&S, Guitar Hero IV..
This was very tough question.
I can`t think of anything else

What's your rationale behind M&S not reaching 10 million? It's a tough goal, sure. But it's still selling well and it could go through another holiday season and a boost from the olympics. And Call of Duty 4 will absolutely hit 10 million, even if we don't count PC sales.

As for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, 10 million is a tough goal, sure. But 5 million is almost certain. It's on 6 different platforms, getting incredibly hyped, launched in September before the holiday season, and the Wii will be selling so well that it could easily reach 2 million on the Wii alone. Don't doubt the power of Star Wars on the Wii.
