@Magera: The whole situation has been very cryptic. However, the fact is that the 80gb was available in most stores until around the end of February, and then at some point in March it was announced that there would be an MGS bundle with the 80gb system. So in essence, we've always either have had the 80gb system available to us or at the very least, we knew it would be returning.

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

they had a no comment status...in EU they said....right 60GB's going

in NA they didn't say they were discontinuing it BUT they announced the MGS4 bundle around 2 weeks after the 80GB got sold out....so technically they said yes 80Gb is coming back

Few reasons:

1. $100 Gift cards with ps3 purchase next week.

2. Re-release of the 80 GB ps3 next week.

3. MGS4 bundle next week.

Makes perfect sense of why the ps3 would be down slightly this week.

I agree, thats what i said in an earlier post, i do see a strong surge around MGS4 release, but obviously it will drop off, a fact the anti-sony team thinks the pro-sony team dont realise
