I can see Russia winning the tourney now, Germany wont be a hard opponent to them due to the strong and fast midfield if they play like they did today.

They won't play like today on Sunday. Everyone expected they would have problems with Portugal after the games against Croatia and Austria and we know what happened. The German team is the most efficient team so far in this tournament and they need only few chances to score.

But the overall performance of the German team was not good at all today, that's true. I was surprised that the Turkish team didn't take advantage of their dominance at the beginning of the 2nd half. It seemed to me that in halftime the Turkish coach told his players to reduce their agressive game and to pace themselves. If so, this was the right decision at the wrong time. The Turkish team should've wrapped things up at the beginning of the 2nd half.

I noticed ppl from Mexico and the US in this thread talking as if you're watching the games.

Is Euro 2008 broadcast over there?

If so, are they on obscure channels, on cable or national? And how many of the games? Live?

They're on the ESPN networks, usually in the afternoon.

And if you feel sorry for the Turkish team (which undeniabley played an excellent tournament), I can tell you that I felt sorry for Switzerland, Czech Republic and Croatia, who all lost unlucky against a Turkish team, that never gave up for a second.

The Turkish team would have deserved to be in the final, but this time another team that never gives up made the last minute goal.

Who's Gomez? He doesn't play anymore and after the tournament VfB Stuttgart will flog him to FC Bayern (or SSV Reutlingen, if  ever-greedy FCB is not interested anymore).

Tomorrow we'll win!

@ Barozi / okr )

come on, stop hating on Gomez - he is a fantastic player and it's his first great tournament (damn he is only 22 years old) .. seems like he won't have his international breakthrough this time, but without a doubt he will be the next big german striker

Do people think Germany will keep playing with Lehmann? He really looked insecure throughout the tournament and he should have prevented both Turkish goals today. But to replace the goalie in the final might be quite a gamble to make for Low.

@Lafilel:
Don't take my last post too seriously. I know that Gomez is a great forward and I'm glad he'll stay in Stuttgart. The tournament was too early for him imo. Too much pressure and expectations. BTW: VfB needs good forwards with their future goalkeeper Jens "Old Shatterhand" Lehmann. Lehmann was terrible today (like so often before).
