Well, I'm please to say that I've been boycotting Ubisoft on Nintendo consoles since...forever.

Several developers have already stated that developing for the HD consoles is 4-5 times more expensive than development for the Wii and anywhere from 2-4 times more expensive than development in general for games last generation. Though I should know from your avoidance to adress my reponse in its entirety that your cherry picking your cop out. I'm sorry your hit-and-run attack didn't play out like you had hoped, better luck next time. |
So what you're saying is that the Wii costs less to develop for than the last generation of games? LOL. So you're saying its a plus that it costs less than last generation to develop, so you're telling developers not to spend money because its not justified on the Wii and to make crappy cheap games?
Here are some numbers for you. Gears of war1 cost a claimed $10million to make, Gears of war2 would cost even less. Total sales for both are expected to exceed $600million. Since gears is a trilogy you would expect that the game will have over $1billion in sales at retail.
As for the haze example, it is likely to sell a little more than a million copies between Xbox360 and PS3 so will probably earn back most if not all of its development budget and turn a small profit.
Tease.
@Squilliam:I think he meant Wii games cost 2-4 times more than games last gen.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.
So do you guys think Ubisoft itself will respond to anything or will they try and look the other way and hope things blow over?
Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

I'm not saying Ubisoft has done bad job on XO, it has done very well. Even PS3 has had some decent ports from XO games. But why should anyone who thinks himself as a gamer NOT care that crappy low-quality games are ruining the leading console and also the industry? |
I think the PC is doing fine, but thanks for your concern I really apreciate it.

We aren't insisting Ubisoft drop harcore HD support, or that they drop casual Wii support. We want Ubisoft to INCLUDE hardcore Wii support.

Big budgets are a risk. Ubisoft has HD franchises which sell well, but have no franchises on the Wii. New franchises are also a risk so they spend their money on HD consoles.
Tease.

Not this bullshit again. I'm not even going to try. You've shown yourself to be a Wii basher in past threads, and with few exceptions, you bashers have been the only people defending this.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Lies you didn't want to accept the fact that wii third party support will never be as good as ds's third party support
