From what I heard, Famitsu and Media Create don't count games selled by Websites like Amazon, play-asia & cie.. So, it can explain the 3-4% difference between VGC and them.

Online retailers is probably the worst source for Japanese gaming. You will see many PS3 and 360 games in Amazon Japan's top 25.
