| BengaBenga said: So yushire, want to bet that Kid Icarus and Castlevania are coming to Wii? To rocketpig and Ail: no-one (well at least not me) is saying that companies shouldn't make HD games. That would be just as stupid as not making Wii games. Risk spreading should be an important part of a company's strategy. (But Ail: Ubisofts result did include RRR2, which sold close to a million and should have made a massive profit and Activision sold a helluvalot Guitar Hero's to Wii owners). That being said, quite a few companies showed negative results over the last financial year. For some of those it would make a lot of sense to stop making 20 million dollar games for a moment and focus on Wii. |
Absolutely, especially the bigger companies. I think Ubisoft has done a decent job of it while Konami's Wii offerings are pretty underwhelming.
Throwing Epic into this argument (which I don't think you did, Benga) is ridiculous though. They specialize in high definition content and they have to be one of the most profitable third party companies out there right now. They've become the default engine for mid-sized developers over the past few years and now even some of the heavyweights like Square are using their UE3 engine.
