You're probably right. There's only so much you can expect from 1 island. If the rest of the world had 1/2 the love Japan has for the DS, Nintendo would own it. About the only way, the DS could gather a larger population attach rate, is if they started raining from the sky. Still, artificial sales generate real interest, which generates real sales, in return. If someone goes out and buys a new DS. they are more likely to by more games than they would have otherwise and another person might become interested in buying 1, after they see the 1st person buying it, when they normally wouldn't have.
