@Scottie, well depending on how far down they get the cell processor, they could easily put in a scaled version of that chip, and have it be "accidentally" the most powerful handheld to date xD
From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

I agree with scottie . The PSP2 will have many exclusive games . Sony learned his lesson with ports and there will be far less of them . Im expecting a worldwide movie/games/music download center and hardware wise it will be ~ 2-3 times as powerfull as the current version ... will it have a touchscreen ? I dont know , I dont think they want to be considered a Nintendo ripoff ...

here's my prediction:
flip-top design (like the DS)
half the power of the PS3
(PSP is half as powerful as PS2, but God of War looks almost exactly like the ones on PS2. and that's saying alot)
Built in HDD (10GB minimum)
dual analog nubs
advanced UMD (or a mini-blu-ray)
same screen size
PS3's multimedia capabilities (DivX, etc.)
256 or 512 of RAM
...and a taser as a replacement for rumble.

If it sings "Daisy" every time the battery begins to die, I'm all over it.
OT, all I care about is:
1. Dual analogs
2. Cartridges. Please, for the love of God, no more optical discs in a portable.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/
1. clam shell design
2. dual analog control/4 buttons/2 shoulder
3. microphone
4. motion controls
5. 10gb flash built-in
(also takes new cart media, similar to memory sticks - this will tie into PS3 and 4/PSP2 compatibility)
6. wifi
7. hd graphics on a 3" top screen
8. sd graphics on a 3" touch bottom screen
9. 4 min battery
10. built-in rumble
11. lan port (x3)
12. usb port (x2)
13. virtual theater sound
14. brushed chrome look or white
15. and a laser. Everything should have a laser.
all for the reasonable price of $300.
1.same screen size with double the resolution(wvga) multitouch ,led backlit
2.3 times the power of current psp
3.ditch umd, make use of flash storage
4.even better online capabilities (wireless psp store)
5.8gb flash storage or better
6.multifunctional i.e. listen music while playing games
7.bluetooth....
8.no loading times..and better battery(using flash storage, led backlit screen they can easily double the battery times)
9.solid construction
10.support more formats(divx,avi)
In general i think it would be better if they tried to improve more on software and less on hardware since it is already really good and they can easily upgrade it to todays standards
and fint a cool name not psp2 or ps touch!
Now.. I want to see this around 2011
*I expect full library of PS1 and PS2 game downloadable via PSN store (through a PC) on PSP2,
*MUCH Better battery life. (I'm expect 7-8 hours)
*Bettery game disc. make UMD blu-ray-able and up its storage to around 15gb.
*second analog stick (for PS2 games)
*better portability
*cheaper gaming price.
*BC with current PSP
Launch with some solid games. and it will make me happy

Lemme make some stuff up real quick though :D There will be NO buttons, it will be a flat, scratch resistant cover over the entire screen (which will encompass the entire PSP) and everything will be touch sensitive, it will have various settings for the transparency of the "buttons" also :P Everytime you turn it on or come back from away status, it will greet you with "Hello Dave" even if your name.... is not.... Dave. It will have at least 4g's of built in memory. It will have at least 2 gigs of RAM (making this one badass mofo in the handheld multi-media relm :D ) It will come with Blu-tooth features for easy communication with other players, skype, data transfer, etc etc etc. The power switch will have 3 settings, On, Off, and Badass Mother Fucker setting, the last of which I have no clue on it's purpose. What some of those other people said about loading times and mini-bluray stuff. |
it should have touchscreen thats for sure. it will open up a range of game elements never seen before from sony games.

First of all the PSP is not half as powerfull as the PS2 , its actually compararble with the PS2s power . Half power of the PS3 would be way to much , and stupid at best . There will not be a mini BRD drive , again its way to expensive ... 256 mb of RAM ... why ? The PSP works on 32 and look at it ...
I dont get it why people want it to be this powerfull . It wont be a wise move from Sony to make an expensive device from start . IMO they will make a cheaper one ~ 160$ pricetag , and they will not win at first any money on it , but the will not loose any either ...
