Ouch. PS3 owners like myself must be pissed.

How come though, when a PS3 FPS dies in a fire, I laugh a little inside.

If your gonna make crap games, at least make them JRPG's so I get what I paid for with my PS3.

Still waiting on the first AAA exclusive game for this console and it's been a long hard road.

Uncharted and Ratchet were AAA quality games if you ask me.

Meh. Just not my cup of tea, I guess, add that in with the fact that neither one scored above 90% on gamerankings last time I checked, and I rate them AA.

In fact, I did beat and review Uncharted, and I gave it an 8.5. Not my favorite, so the reviewers tilt might have brought it down a little....I guess.

I think we've learned that a couple of points on gamerankings isn't a big deal. Those games were top quality, imo.

I just read that review, man it was harsh. That guy seems to have a vendetta out for that game, lol.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

@ Zenfolder )

in that case I seriously doubt you were waiting for Haze (to be your first AAA) anyway, so don't act as if you were disappointed

Ouch...I wasn't interested in getting Haze but still...Ouch

I'm not usually a console FPS player and this definately wasn't on my purchase list but I played the demo and compared so some FPS on the PS3 it wasn't half bad, it wasn't a master peice but that was obvious. But 4.5 is lower then I'd expect.

Hmm, pie.

The problem here is that there is no generally accepted definition of AAA other than "reallreallygood". Some people use it to mean games with an average score of 90+, in which case MGS4 would be the PS3's first AAA exclusive. Most PS3 fans don't like this definition. =P

I also think this is a bit restrictive, and doesn't correspond with common usage. I've heard many people refer to underappreciated gems with poor reviews as AAA, or talk about the PS3's AAA exclusives right after launch. I prefer to use it as a category for the very best games of a console, that are clearly above the rest. For the Wii these would be SMG, SSBB, LoZ:TP, and maybe MP3:C, for the 360 Halo, Gears, and Mass Effect, and for the PS3 probably Ratchet, Uncharted, and Resistance.

That list is probably pretty bad, but it's just an example of the idea behind it.

I'm always open to being pleasently surprised, wheather it is from a AAA game or from fanboy woe. I am a Nintendo fanboy afterall, who hates shooters, but who happens to own a PS3 and a 360(but not a Wii).

I don't pretend to not be kinda excited and happy about this score, as much as this game was hyped and defended.

I think everytime a big hyped game like this flops, it teaches fanboys a lesson and maybe next time they won't be quite as certain that their game is going to be "great."

Afterall, you never know until it's released.

I'm not here to rub it in, but if your gonna bust me out like that, then I'm not gonna lie to you about it. History will judge me how it must.

@ topic )

my impression of the Haze demo was pretty good

- the graphics certainly weren't top notch, which is a bit more of a critics point for a shooter, then for games of other genres, but it looked better than Timesplitters, The Club and Blacksite and so on

- gameplay was fun and the aiming is astounishingly good, especially, because I usually hate to control the recticle with an analogue stick
nectar made me addicted whithout being mandatory to use, so I think they really integrated that system well
.. and the fully customizeable controls are a big plus in my book

- the acting wasn't good, but the small hints at the effects of nectar and the storyline were nice and did whet my appetite

all in all I ran through the short demo 4-5 times, several times in Co-op and didn't have any lag, so my impression of the demo was a 7.5/10 (I'm not exacly a shooter fan )

I don't know how IGN AU comes to a 4.5/10, but then again I only played the demo and not the full game, so other levels might be worse or it could get very repetitive.

My definition for a AAA exclusive is pretty strict:

1. Not available on any other platform(including PC).

2. 90 percent or greater on gamerankings.

3. Full priced retail game.

4. Widely regarded as good, and very popular.

360: Halo 3

Wii: Mario Galaxy, Smash Brothers: Brawl

PS3: Nothing

Games like RE4:Wii Edition, Twilight Princess, Gears of War, Okami Wii, Oblivion, GTAIV, and Orange Box all have 90 or above rounded averages, but they are also all multiplats and therefore don't count in my exclusives list, though exclusives lists only matter for fanboys and sales, because for gamers as a whole, the less exclusives the better. I wish all the PS3 only owners could play Mario Galaxy and I wish all the Wii only owners could play Lost Odyssey, but exclusives prevent that. As fanboys we love when our console gets a great exclusive, but as gamers, we shouldn't care, or rather, we should proactively want our consoles games ported to other systems so their greatness can be shared with other gamers.

So in order to enjoy a game, it has to be AAA?
