Zelda II is good, damn good, and is no harder then Zelda 1, especially the 2nd quest.

Back of there man... Zelda II isn´t even a Zelda game... its a third class jump and run adventure with the Zelda name on it... and its nowhere close to being as hard as Zelda 1... man Zelda 2 doesn´t even have a bomerang... and its jump and run... WTF ???

Zelda LttP is the best Zelda game to date... sure Zelda did a fine transaction to 3D but what was achived in LttP has never been done again... you can cry OoT all you want... compared to LttP it has a ugly style and brocken gamplay... LttP is the Monalisa of 2D gaming and the Monalisa of 3D gaming has yet to be made...

Too all who disagree here is a little quote from Samule L. Jackson for you:

"Yes they deserved to die and I hope they burn in hell !!!"

Zelda II isint a Zelda game??!!??

I wish I could say I read that wrong, Zelda II is a landmark game, as good as Zelda 1 and even surpassing it in many ways. Zelda 1 had no interaction with NPS's other then 'Buy something will ya' or 'It's a secret to everyone' while as Zelda II had a huge number of towns, each populated whith a ton of NPC's some of which even sent you on quests. Also Zelda II had a huge overworld which varing terrain, this expanded on the concept of Zelda 1, but now you could go into caves, traverse water, and actually go into woods , not just on a map screen with a fre tress here and there. But your major gripe seems to be with the gameplay, so I'll address that. Yes Zelda II is 'jump and run' but it presented Link's world in a new unique sense, a more action oriented sense, designed to make the battles more engaging with more strategy involved. Instead of like Zelda 1 where if u used your sword it was to stab someone. In Zelda II you could downthrust, upthrust, upstab and down stab. The spell system also adds alot to the Zelda series. It allowed you to incorporate different ideas into how to approach a situation and or boss battle. cast sheild and jump to have better armor and jump really high, or save it all for a timely life spell. Another great addition to Zelda II is the RPG like levelling system which actually rewards the player for battling enemies with level ups and more health/power/magic instead of the odd rupee or heart.

Now I know by the phrasing of that rant, it may seem I dislike Zelda 1, not true, Zelda 1 is an amazing game, as is every Zelda game (CD-I not included) but to say that Zelda II isint a Zelda game is just ridiculous, it introduced things like NPC interction that the Zelda series would not have survived withought.

Sure it's the black sheep title. Sure it's unique and different and challenging, but it's still an amazing game, a masterpeice.

Super Mario 64 is the greatest game of all time. SM 64 was revolutionary the first 3D Mario game that used an analogue controller, great level design, excellent game play and brilliant soundtrack.

The best game ever is Super Mario All-Stars, no doubt.

I thought Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princes were both better than A Link to the Past.

super mario bros is the greatest game ever i play it to this day it really aged well too

Isn't Ocarina of Time considered the best game ever?

I agree that Zelda II brought lots of new additions... but most of  them where never to be seen in another Zelda game... and I thank everybody involved in macking these games for going back to the feel of the original Zelda and not the second part wich wasn´t a real Zelda game in the first place... no bumerang+ no bow = not Zelda

I don't care if all of you wants to burn me in oil,for me is Final Fantasy VI >_>

I'll quote John Lennon regarding that topic:

Lennon was asked in an interview, "Do you think Ringo is the best rock drummer in the world?"

to which he replied, "He's not even the best drummer in the Beatles."

How many cups of darkness have I drank over the years? Even I don't know...

Oh dear, this thread is cringeworthy. It's full of cheese.
