You're thinking it wrong! Smash Bros. is all about bizarre movesets. The weirder the better!

I think the way the Pikmin work is that one of his moves (B or B-down most likely) plucks them up, and virtually all of his better moves use them up.

(I'm slightly more hopeful about playable Ridley now, but only time will tell) 

SWEET!!!!!! This is one of my favorite updates!!!!! Captain Olimar will definately be one of my favorite characters.

Sweet, I was hoping olimar would make it. I've played and beat both Pikmen games twice a piece. They are so awesome, if anyone here has not played Pikmin, go out and buy both of them right now.

His moves will be interesting.Yellow bomb pikmin, white poison pikmin, purple heavy pimin. The question is will he always have the same variety of pikmin with him to use, or will he pull different colored ones out of the ground affecting what moves he can do? Or maybe his moves won't involve the specific colors of pimin and their unique abilities. Ooh, the possibilities are tantalizing!

I think his final smash will be a 100 pikmin stampede. 100 pikmin just fall down and/or climb out of the ground and attack everything in their path until all are dead or have just wandered off the stage themselves. It should be something to that effect.

I hope tomorrow we see either his level, or his moves. That would rock.

Dream Final Smash for Captain Olimar:

Background changes:Sun rises
Onion Ships, Blue, Red, and Yellow, Fly down from the sky and land on the stage.
Hundreds of Pikmin come out of their ships, and begin to attack all players.
As a time keeper, the sun begins to 'go through the day' rising, then falling, until just about nightfall.
Right before night falls, all of the Pikmin get back in their ships.
Just as night falls, the ships fly out of stage.
Background goes back to normal.


Pretty elaborate, and a pain to accomplish on changing stages.
But it would be awesome.

awesome update. I just hope he doesnt get overwhelmed by
all those pikmin. I mean, the ice clim. were hard to use, imo, b/c
there was 2 of them, which meant u were an easy target. Hopefully
he has some powerful moves, fast legs, and a killer FS to counter balance
everything else. I still think they should have announced Megaman as well.

Olimar's FS will obviously be a mass Pikmin summon.

We've seen 4 types of FSes, right?

1) OMG PWNZ Melee attack
2) OMG PWNZ Ranged blast
3) Transform!
4) Mass summon

I'm not sure what Peach's counts as. A summon with a stun effect? Anyhoo, Olimar would thematically fall into category 4.

 I understand what you mean by Ice Climbers.  In fact, they were so bad to use around my house that "Ice Climbers" was a phrase nobody ever said.  It was cursed and banishable.  I wouldn't give up on Mega Man just yet, still a bit to go before release.  ;)

Has anyone other than me noticed how Sonic can still attack and stuff after he uses his up-B move?
