Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Super Smash Bros. Brawl Official Updates

It might be online, who knows. They still haven't announced all the online features. The online announcement page is wi-fi01.html, so there will be more announcements, not to mention how Sakurai said "MORE TO COME" or something. I'm not keeping my hopes up either way. I just know something else will be online, and it'll most likely be awesome, since every single update is totally awesome oh balls I need this game.

The only thing better than Pikachu's hat is Donkey Kong grabbing a hat-wearing Pikachu and running into Mario Kart traffic.

Man,

Rubang B, I logged on just to make the exact same statement. Now the only thing left for me to do is:

I second Rubang B's motion!

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

Man, amazing update. I loved Kirby Super Star so much (I still have the cartridge and original box) and this is like its resurrection.

Seriously, amazing.

True story. Kirby Super Star is the holy grail of Kirby games IMO.

Online co-op mode may have been killer but Offline co-op mode is also killer.

Thank you Kirby Super Star. When are you getting released for the Virtual Console again?

There is no such thing as a console war. This is the first step to game design.

Name is DROAK.

I know a lot of you don't care, but I wanted to show this off.

 Post from Smashboards

Wow some peoples' logic is stupid.

If Nintendo decides to listen to the minority of casual players that are extremely arrogant, ignorant and adamantly against Wavedashing and other advanced techs, the game will suck. If Nintendo decides "You know what? Let's take these out because they prevent newer players from winning, let's make it so a new player can stand up to someone who has dedicated time and practice to this game.", the difference between casuals and competitives become smaller, the game has become shallower.

A shallow game can be fun, but not over long periods of time. People will play it, get bored, and stop playing it. Probably the only reason Smash games last as long as they do is because they are so deep. Competitive players (and maybe even hardcore players that don't know the advanced techs yet) continue to play them and that's how newer players find out about the game and keep the scene alive.

I garantee you that if Brawl is a shallow game where "Anyone can win", it will stop being played within 2 years, as opposed to 6 or more.

So thus, "catering to casuals to make more money" as some people say might happen, would actually make them lose money.

I wanted to show this for two reasons 1)As a sales site, it is a point of interest when one talks about sales. So it's sickening to think the game won't sell if something (let alone wavedashing) is out. 2)I know none of you guys here are professional smashers, per say, so from experience it shows how much said person doesn't know.

I guess this is irrelivant, but just wanted to know some thoughts.

As far as I'm concerned, the better I can get at the game, especially through difficult methods, the better. BTW, WTF is Wavedashing?

I can wavedash pretty well. (not the best, but I guess I'm pretty good at it) Wavedashing being in or out should have no effect on sales. If wavedashing is out of Brawl, I really wouldn't care. It really isn't that great of a technique.
