Oh sure he was. He was a clone of Mario slightly re-tooled. In the original, with the exception of the running A, jumping time/height, and slight special move alterations he was Mario. In Melee, he was much more different (->+B was very different) and the original differences were more accentuated, but he was still mostly a clone.

He may be crossing the boundary of is/is not a clone with Brawl, but to say he wasn't a clone before is just ignorant--Melee is semi-arguable but the original isn't at all.


Well I was actually talking about Melee.  I agree he was a clone in SSB.  In Melee he was very similar too though you are right.  

Ganondorf!

Remember Ganondorf always uses a weapon in Zelda games.  SSBM actually sort of broke canon by making him a melee fighter.  He's usually using a sword, and he's always using a weapon of some kind.  Prepare for a badass heavy sword fighter in Brawl.

Sure it'd be pretty similar to Bowser's Final Smash, but we're probably getting so many generic "huge blast of energy blah-blah" ones that nobody will mind. It could work totally differently too, for example running across the screen while Giga Bowser is much slower.

... now that I think about it, charging across the screen in an uncontrolled manner seems like a pretty bad idea in Smash Bros. Something like that anyway.

Charging across in an uncontrolled manner is a bad idea.

How many times have you seen Pichu or Luigi commit suicide with their ->+B moves in Melee?

Woot. Animal Crossing Character. I expected "him" to be in, but I still do not see how his moveset will work. Spade, Net, Rod?

The Banana People from DK Jungle Climber have a trophy. I just played the game Monday. Interesting...

Diddy Final Smash is pretty good. One of the better ones, IMO. Just move him left/right and it automatically barrages anyone below him.

@naz,

Unless Ness and Lucas are both in with different movesets, Ness will be out. The Ness 'fanbase' would, more than likely, be more interested in Lucas.

I still have my doubts on Marth, seeing as I expect him to be replaced for a female FE character with similar moveset.

Luigi will definitely be using his Poltergust 3000.

I do expect Ganon to be fighting with his sword. Looking forward to it.

Lucas won't make it in DonWii. Or at least I don't think he will. Mother 3 wasn't as popular as Earthbound, and since it will never be released outside of Japan it's very unlikely for him to be in Brawl, considering 80% of Smash's fanbase exists outside of Japan. Again, he's also one of the original 12. The fanbase and heritage for those 12 characters is too strong for any to be removed now.
