^Agree, actually I think sales would increase just from Sonic... not by Sonic itself, but by Sonic Vs. Mario.

Sonic really needs to be in this game, it would be a good thing for both Nintendo and Sega.

Unless they thought Mario vs. Sonic was such a big event that it deserves it's own game, and don't want Sonic in Smash distracting from or taking sales from that game. Who can understand the mind of a Nintendo?

I wouldn't count on Sonic appearing in this game too much, like Erik said, it's worthy of a game of it's own! A selection of Nintendo vs Sega characters. That would be great. Especially if done by the same team!

Maybe I'm just saying this so I will not get dissapointed in the end when Sonic doesn't make an appearance =P
