Things that have changed since the last Generation of Gaming:

- Nintendo has shown us you can have the best selling console of all time with virtually no games for it.

- Graphics suddenly matter to Sony fans but Reverse Compatibility and Dual shock oddly enough don’t.

- Kiddy Crap is trendy with Hardcore gamers now that it’s no longer Nintendo’s “thing” (Viva Piñata, Little Big Planet, Banjo Kazooie 3, LBP)

- Third Party Developers are now essentially the equivalent of Video Game street pimps.

- Gimmicks are no longer fads (Wii-mote)... Well, not all Gimmicks (PS-Eye)

DonWii, despite him not giving out that message every time, I'm sure some of the characters we have seen must be unlocked (Snake for instance). Anyway, Ike is awesome.

Ike is the new Marth and Roy of this game. Don't expect the other two to be in this time around, with how similar fire emblem characters are, they cannot put every single one in. However I would expect at least one more new one from the series, but expect him to be a lot different as they are trying to get rid of duplicates. Hector or Lyn would both be good bets, but they could do someone from the new game as well.

Very cool. Also the first real new character announcement through the site.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

So... They revealed an unlockable character? Thats no fun. I thought they would keep some stuff secret, especially since I can't help but see the daily updates.

I dunno, there's nothing that said he's a hidden character, is there? By having a Fire Emblem character initially available, it makes a wider breadth of styles initially available.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see other replies

-Manella: Yeah... sux0rz! I hate missing out on food...
-Maya: Nick... what does "Sucksores" mean?
-Phoenix: No idea...

He's the new Roy, expect Marth to return.  Marth is the original Fire Emblem hero and he will remain for historic purposes (Sakurai loves his classics).   Roy was the most recent FE character when SSBM was being released, just as Ike is for SSBB, so Roy being replaced by Ike was to be expected.  It will not be another new character, Marth will return as a veteran.

So lets see. There were 14 characters initially available in Melee, and 4 of them have yet to be seen. Who are they?

Peach
Captain Falcon
Ness
Ice Climbers

I suspect all 4 of them will be in Brawl, but it's a question as to whether they're initially available or not. I think Peach will be initially available; I don't see how it could be otherwise.

I think Falcon will not, unless there is a F-Zero game in development for the Wii. F-Zero GX wasn't announced until 1/2 a year after Melee was released, so it's possible

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Ness wasn't in Mother 3, so it's been awhile since his game was released. I think he'll also not be initially available.

Ice climbers I think actually will be available initially. They offer a very unique fighting style, being two characters. This gives more breadth to the initial roster.

Bottom line is, no matter who they are, I think 2 of the 14 initial characters in Melee will be moved to hidden characters in Brawl. Also, and this is slightly out of left field, I think there's going to be 16 or 18 initially available characters in Brawl, as opposed to Melee's 14. So even with all that's been revealed so far, if my conservative guess of 16 is correct, then that leaves one brand new character to be revealed on the site, assuming they only reveal initially available characters on the site. And that character will be Metaknight. I think Solid Snake will be an unlockable.

-_- I hate it when people call Fox Stafox. His name is Fox. His team is called Star Fox and it's 2 words.

I don't why Falcon wouldn't be in the game...but from what I can tell, nobody really cares about Falcon anyway.

I'm in trouble I can't decide which character choose first Snake or Ike or maybe Link or Samus(Zero Suit), Pit could be. Damn!
