ps3 getting slaughtered in japan. I guess the land of the rising sun has given the middle finger to hidef consoles.

This basically settles a Ninty monopoly in Japan which can hardly bode well for Japanese dev support for PS360 and most dev's, Japanese or no, seem dead set on not making good games for the Wii (first party not withstanding of course).
A strange and possibly less beneficial situation than even Wii fans might think it.

That first part is how it always works. The Japanese have a history of picking one console and just sticking too it.

This makes me nervous... as i perfer non localized SRPGS to be on the PS3 for obvious reasons.

Well reason... PS3 being region free.  I think the wiimote would make SRPG controls a little better and lead to some more interestign styles of play during attack sequnces.

With the Japan numbers up 360 handed the Wii .1% of the market share.

Wii had a little increase and PS3 is still doing bad. The PS3 will be FIRE in 2009 though. They are going to have like a new AA- AAA game every month. They did pretty much push ALL of them back. But for now, the PS3 is shootin' blanks. The PSP and Wii on the other hand are blazing RCP 90s.

I don't know how long the PSP thing will last without Monster Hunter keeping it afloat. What is the next BIG game coming to the PSP anyways (honest question). I know the DS has like 4 new games a week. Not necessarily big hitters, but there is a constant flow of games being made for that system. I think it's safe to say the Wii won 2008 in The Land of The Rising Sun.

Maybe Wii will refind its average in the 70ks now, now that its 2 weeks straight up there. Who knows.
