"a 10 should be awarded if you play a game, throughoughly enjoy it, and after playing it look back and go, wow, I can find nothing wrong with that experience, it was enjoyable through every aspect. I'm tired of innovation being the new guide for a games quality -_-; what happened to people just enjoying great games? Sequels get trashed this day in age because they don't "reinvigorate" the market, seriously who gives a shit? Some people tire of playing the same thing over and over, but some of us love sticking to something that works, I don't care how played out certain things can be, as long as they're a blast to play then whats the problem?" ~ ChronotriggerJM

....sorry for the rant, but what he said in accordance to this game got me thinking.....

it's not really the point of your thread but i disagree.  A 10 should be reserved for a revolutionary game and a revolutionary game only - something completely fresh and in fact perfect hence the perfect score.

What we should do as gamers is stop bitching and whining that a game "only" scored and 85.  I'd rather see a larger spread on game scores.  0-3 horrible and flawed, 3-5 bad or generic, 5-8 a high quality game but not a standout, 8-10 ridiculously awesome and sure to be a classic.

Well its the same with Killzone 2 . The truth is that no shooter at this point is revolutionary in the true sense of the word . Portal and Crysis where both great but neither broke the boundries as much as Quake did back in the mid 90's ...

I think this will be a great game. I like the plot a lot. Don't listen to the Xbox fanboys who are just sour coz they won't get to play it. Seriously what do you care what the Xbox crowd thinks about this one? Its unfortunate that Haze is getting lost in the hype around GTA and MGS4 but I think this will be one with great legs, kind of like Ratchet And Clank. All we need is some good reviews, which I am hoping will come soon.

I don't think it's a matter of Xbox fans being involved (even though they do exist, bashing simply because it's not on their system), it's just that had the game released on time, everyone would've be happy. Now, the exact same game is "meh". Nothing has changed in the gameplay since November, except for maybe having it polished some more, yet everyone now calls it "generic"....why such a change in opinion when looking at the EXACT same footage?

Edit: I should say that NOTHING has changed, but the mechanics and the formula for the game have not changed since we've heard about it. And that formula was what made people at first say "Wow" and now 6 months later, everyone's saying "meh"

killzone 2, too human, haze, these games are killing their own buzz, dont blame the community.

You do know that this happens more the other way around (PS3 bashing 360 game exclusives) right? And so far from feedback on forums and real people, PS3 fans are saying this about the game as much as 360 fans. However, the game is not out yet so we are all waiting for reviews but I think the biggest mistake is it is being released right in between GTA4 and MGS4.

As a PS3 fan and supporter, i hope Haze is a hit, but yes, it does seem like a lot of other shooters. MGS4 is top of my list to get next, but in terms of fps Resistance 2 is the shooter im looking forward to (as a lovely christmas present along with Motorstorm 2)

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

The only thing I know of is PS3 fans calling Halo "Gaylo" but other than that...they have no reason to bash them, because without even owning a 360, they can play many of it's game (Shadowrun, Gears, Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc)

Anyway, releasing between MGS4 and GTA4 is a mistake, but still, those games don't change THIS game's quality

I'm so with you on this one Bmaker xD I hear so much BS towards all my favorite genre's and it really makes me wonder what happened to gamers :P This generation ESP the Wii is just pushing innovation, innovation, innovation and seemingly anything NOT innovative is instantly garbage xD. I'm just relieved that they're taking the things I loved and they're making them better ;)

I have met quite a few people who just plain and simple want this game to fail. And seeing as how this is coming from Free Radical, that's just sad :( But so many people lately whining about JRPG's, FPS's, Fighting Games etc etc. If your an innovation junkie thats fine, but please leave us traditional types alone :P If anything you should be jealous that were so much easier to please XD

Even when this was suppose to be multiplatform I thought meh, been there done that. Also doesn't help when I also thought timesplitters was garbage.

See but that to me is rediculous, when did different mean good? Different means just that... it's different. If you play something and you CANNOT fnd something wrong with it, and you enjoyed EVERYTHING, is it not perfect? Since when does perfect = different? Do you have a favorite food? Why is it your favorite? Do you wish it was different every time? Hell no. Granted if you are one of those innovation junkies, it's understandable that you need something different to fulfill your needs, but different should be a bonus, not the goal. Outstanding and immaginitive is what I'm looking for, re-invention of the wheel? Not so much.
