The article doesnt have any source.

I told some time ago I felt the PS3 was somewhat overtracked in my country. Some 40K units.

The last fiable data set I have is the GFK figures for 31 dec and those were nearing 600 000 units. So its doubtful it is at 615 000 now.

I need more data until we can say something for sure.

When Sony Spain speaks their mind we get real sold to customers numbers so when they say something I will post it.

Whats clear is that the PSP is undertracked. It was at 1800 000 back in 31 dec.

I blame Spanish people for not buying enough PS3s :P

I remember an AC Nielsen study putting the PS3 at around 410k at the end of 2007, maybe those numbers were pretty accurate afterall?

It was probably in the ballpark, but still too low. I don't know why Nintendo use AC Nielsen, Microsoft and Sony both use GfK, and ADESE, the Spanish leisure software association use GfK too. Basically everyone in Spain uses GfK except for Nintendo.

My guess is Nintendo feel GfK undertrack their products, so supply AC Nielsen with sales data for their products, and have them estimate Microsoft's and Sony's.  If that's the case then AC Nielsen data for Nintendo's products might be quite accurate, but I'd take their data on Microsoft and Sony with a pinch of salt.

Lets wait to here what sony has to say before any changes have been made to the numbers

Yes, post your source please. If it isn't online I also accept scans or mastercard.

It was published in the february issue of Hobby Consolas ,the biggest videogames publication in Spain. They did a sales page with the AC inform about Wii and DS sales and then the GFK data for PS3 ,PSP and X360.

I could scan it ,but dont know how to link it anyway.

At the end of the article it has Sony as the source, however, i cant see that numbers in Sony website

if it is true it have to be related to the worldwide shipment data sony released this week. So I think it means shipment through march 31th
