Sony shipment figure (end or march 08):12.85 million units

VGC sold to customers:11.30 million units

 so it means 1.55 million PS3's were sitting on shelves.

seems really close,,, maybe 200,000-300,000 undertracked?

 

 

anyways,I think ioi has done a very good job .Thanks man. 

 

 

 

For comparison:(X360 by end of march 08)

MS shipment figures:19 million

VGC sold to customers:17.9 million

so that means 1.1 million X360 were sitting on the shelves

Yep - seems accurate, possibly 200k - 300k undertracked max ... but i think its more likely that SONY shipped more console's for GT5:P and GTA4 ...

1.1 million on 360 seems be to more reasonable for both.

So I'm going to say. 450K undertracked.

Not that it means anything at all, I will be happy when third party support remains strong.

I was in the Mediamarkt (A German Computer/software/other technology things store) today and they had so many PS3's in stock that they were even putting PS3's on the Wii shelves.

How many stores in the world sell PS3's???

There would need to be 155,000 stores WORLDWIDE to each hold 10 PS3's on their shelves..

I think its pretty reasonable
