MGS4:

NA: 600-730K (GREAT bundle + MGS4 is 3rd person spionage/shooter)
EU: 700-750K (GT5P did great and MGS4 is Full game - a masterpiece)
JAP: 500-520K (100k bundles + DMC4 in Japan ps3+x360 sales were around 300k, so 400k should be easy)

Total = 1.8 million, but there is chance to reach 2 mln.


PS3 hardware Total:

NA: 280K (thnx to GREAT bundle - 80GB+dualshock)
EU: 220K (bundle not so great, 40GB with sixaxis)
JAP: 150K (100k bundle, though 40GB but + dualshock)

Total = 650K

MGS4 release week PS3 will pass 14 mln. mark in Total sales. :)

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.


Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

I would say 2 mil ww SW
450k hw sales

I also think that the HW sales will not dip back below 250k a week for the ps3 until July with all the stuff out and coming out for the ps3 between now and then

I just pre-ordered it and i am rather happy and can't wait :)

anyway back OT.

Software First Week

JPN: 200k (at least)
EU: 550k (at least)
NA: 650k (at least)

WW: 1.4 million


Hardware First Week

JPN: 87k (bundle almost sells out + normal weekly JPN sales)
EU: 213k
NA: 220k (return of the 80GB and BC!!!)

WW: 520k

HW quite high, i know.

PlayStation 4: 12-15million

Xbox One: 7-10 million

Wii U: 8-9 million (Changed 01/04/2014 from 7-9 --> 8-9 million)

MGS4 launch date is right next to the start of summer and game sales overall will be up (although PS3 sales last year were actually going down in June).

My speculations for the first week:

Software:

NA : 1.2 million (including the bundle units)
OT : 800-900K (including the bundle units)
JP: 300-400K (including the bundle units)

Sofware Total: 2.2 million


Hardware:

NA: 275K-325K
OT: 300K-375K
JP: 75K-95K

Hardware Total : 650K


Sales momentum has been building up with the release of GT5P last month and GTA4 last week, add to that the return of the American-favorite 80gb SKU, the beginning of the summer (some fathers may be getting themselves a nice gift that week in USA), and expect many 360 owners finally buying a PS3 with good reason. It's 75% guess, but it's my guess. So yeah, here's to hoping...

WiiFit will be 2008 #1 selling game in NORTH AMERICA!  
End of '08 Predictions: Wii - 48m X360 - 25m  PS3 - 19m
Wii monthly NA sales will top 400k every month in '08. *Jan sales ruined it. Grrrr!*
WiiFit will top 1m in sales in its first month of release in North America.
MGS4 will NOT be released in '08. *Darn it!* FF13 will NOT be released in '08.
Rockband Wii will top 600k in first month sales in North America.
WiiFit will pass the PS3 WW sales by Xmas '09.

Well, I think MGS4 is the game to definitely turn the tables around for PS3. You must remember this is the first exclusive Killer App for PS3. With GTA4 the audience is divided since it's available on 2 consoles, on the other hand MGS4 (and the irresistable bundle) is the reason to get a PS3 NOW for those who's been waiting on the fence and 360 owners (see disolitude) waiting for something unique to justify the purchase.
