Soriku, I can't tell if I'm misreading something, but you can't seriously think that the PS3 will sell 300k in both Others and the Americas? That'd be 600k right there, something the Wii can barely do. Japan at 60k is reasonable enough, because it's hard to know how MGS4 will push hw there. You're software prediction is fine as well, since I have no idea how well this game will sell first week. But you're hw numbers are just... crazy. GTA4 didn't do that. I doubt MGS4 will.

I even think 200k is pushing it, since GTA4 wasn't able to do that either in Americas, and there was a bundle already in Others (so I doubt the MGS4 bundle will have a similar effect so quickly after the GTA4 bundle). The PS3 might push 200k in Americas not so much because of the MGS4 bundle, but because the bundle is also the return of the 80gb.

I guess we'll see.

PS3's have SOLD OUT at the 4 MAJOR UK RETAILERS.

Looks like my japanese software prediction will be way off (300-400K -including the bundle units- first WHOLE week)

I'm not sure if MGS4 will have long legs in Japan, I will certainly be expecting a huge drop for 2nd week. But I think it should be considered that if the hardware sales are very good so the installed base can grow kinda like proportionally to the stand-alone software success, then I believe it can have pretty legs for a while.

One more thing. The best-selling PS3 game so far -in Japan- was what, DMC4? And 2nd, 3rd. top 10? Games like Disgaea 3, Yakuza Kenzan, Pro-Evolution Soccer in there. I think the japanese gamer hasn't TRULY experienced the power of the PS3, and MGS4 will definitely have a hand in "opening the world of PS3 next-gen gaming to the eyes of the japanese gamer". Interest and momentum can only grow from here, if only it could be followed with another strong title before it dies down completely...

-no MGS4 bundles for sale, no rumble for sale, no MGS4 LE for sale.... (actually, PS3 sold _less_ units in my town this week as stocks of the "good bundles" dwindled and the only bundle readily available is the overpriced Blu-ray bundle (PS3 40G, 1 game, JB blu-ray for $720). Makes me wonder what is happening in other European countries... 

That's because Europe didn't get 80gb bundles like America did, so for bundles i think the attach rate would be a bit lower than in America.

If we say estimates were 10% off, that means sales would be around 1.35 for first day sales... first week can reach 2 mil...

It seem MGS4 SW sales will exceed Crazzyman expectation which is incredible.
