Looks like my japanese software prediction will be way off (300-400K -including the bundle units- first WHOLE week)
I'm not sure if MGS4 will have long legs in Japan, I will certainly be expecting a huge drop for 2nd week. But I think it should be considered that if the hardware sales are very good so the installed base can grow kinda like proportionally to the stand-alone software success, then I believe it can have pretty legs for a while.
One more thing. The best-selling PS3 game so far -in Japan- was what, DMC4? And 2nd, 3rd. top 10? Games like Disgaea 3, Yakuza Kenzan, Pro-Evolution Soccer in there. I think the japanese gamer hasn't TRULY experienced the power of the PS3, and MGS4 will definitely have a hand in "opening the world of PS3 next-gen gaming to the eyes of the japanese gamer". Interest and momentum can only grow from here, if only it could be followed with another strong title before it dies down completely...
