Looking at my numbers today I realized that I had the PS3 selling (in one week) about as many units as it sold in the entire month of April in several regions, and April saw the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 which is a much more popular game than Metal Gear Solid 4.
MANY people will buy 80GB MGS4 bundles.
There was almost NO bundles of GTA4.
GTA4 is a multiplatform title.
GT5P with BUNDLE did GREAT in Europe.
MGS4 will do even better, though i wish, Japan and Europe would also received 80GB bundles, instead of 40GB.
2 mln. SW and around 500k HW will be easy for PS3.

2009.04.30 - PS3 will OUTSELL x360 atleast by the middle of 2010. Japan+Europe > NA.
Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.
1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.
PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.

OT: PS3 hardware should be up about 25-30% for the week of release. That would put it somewhere in the 200k region, although I could see it going higher to 225k. Really do not see this game boosting hardware above 250k, but of course I could be wrong. I have no clue on software; a million sales first week should definitely happen though.

I know there was a GTA boost recently with HW, but the 80GB will have a large affect on US hardware, and the MGS bundles will sell well in Japan, there are 100k avaliable (of 1 of those types) and I think those will sell pretty quickly
my newer predictions are:
SW: US 600k, EU 700k, JP 200k = 1.5m
HW: US 120k, EU 140k, JP 80k = 340k
(massive drop off in JP and US HW next week, something like 65k and 20k)
