Forums - Nintendo - For people who ONLY have a Wii (but not only for wii owners)

Originally the Wii was purchased as a birthday present for my teenaged son.  But it has gotten me back into console gaming too.

For my son - yes - probably the 360 when the Pro version reached under $300 or maybe under $250.

For myself (I will buy my own Wii when my son goes to University next year) no.  There's nothing on PS3/360 that I really want that isn't on PC.

Probably.

I would have bought whatever Nintendo put out as I greatly enjoy their games.

If Nintendo had gone software only I would have went where their games were going.

Well I have a 360 so I already have bias there. I of course would have bought Microsoft's X-Box 360 if Nintendo did not produce a console this generation. Nintendo and Sega have always been my favorite hardware manufacturers and if Nintendo disapeared I would have to find new hardware to game on.

I'm not about to stop gaming over the loss of Nintendo though it would be a major setback and it would cut my gaming time substantually.

I would go 360 mainly because of Microsoft's current Nintendo-Esque development style. You can't possibly deny that Microsoft isn't taking alot of Nintendo's plays from their past playbooks and playing them on the feild. Targeting the hardcore demographic that has always been Nintendo's strong point. Shooters where Nintendo used to dominate (N64) even party games and the aquisition of Rare.

Microsoft at this point is Nintendo 2.0, they can't possibly live up to the standards of the real Nintendo but they are trying as hard as they can to become the new Nintendo. Putting more weight on internal development of first party games over third party is another major thing Microsoft is acceling at.

So in the end I love Nintendo more then any other company but if I didn't have a Nintendo platform to choose from I would go with Microsoft!

Probably the console that has Nintendo games, and a DS if that counts

Well I initially bought a Wii than PS3 both were stolen and I only rebought the Wii.
If the Wii did not exist I probably would of bought a PS3 and 360. However this gen I am only buying the Wii and later the PS3.

My first choice would be a X360, but after the RRoD, I would sell it and buy a PS3.

Yes - prob a PS3

PS3 if the Wii didn't exist.

The last console I ever purchased before the Wii was the PlayStation (1) and before that the SNES and N64. So I am definatly one of the people Nintendo "brought back" into console gaming. I was planning on getting a PS2 a few months before the Wii launched but I read up on it and decided to wait for the Wii (best decision I've made in a while). A funny side note for me is that my purchase of the Wii and how much fun I've had with it convinced me to buy the DS which I had neglected to get or even really to think about until about 6-8 months ago.

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.

I would of stayed a  PC Only Gamer,  my last console was  a Atari 2600. The PS3 and X360 offer nothing new.
