Nintendo projected to sell 14 million Wiis in this fiscal year, add up the 5.84 until March 31st, that means Nintendo expects to sell at least just under 20 million units LTD until March 31st 2008.

Furthermore Iwata stated that the projected 14m are not meant as production limit, they are able to produce more if needed (and they will need more than those 14m).

The 360 is struggling, I believe in johnlucas' prediction that it won't hit the 14m mark by years end.

I don't see the PS3 hitting 7m until the end of Sony's fiscal year, I predict they will have sold about 6m at March 31st 2008. The PS3 is selling less than 250k per month right now and it won't do that much better in the future.

Yes true 360 is struggeling but Halo 3 is a system seller it haves more than 4 million pre-orders only in North America. This game will sell for sure systems.

PS3 I don't know why people buy a PS3 now there is no game that really is a wow game and on the PS3 forums I am member of the most agree, people are waiting for games some say I will get him when Lair, of HS of Ratchet And Clank launches. And around Christmas time people will get money to buy the PS3 if they don't have the money now. 6 millions sold at march 31st 2008 NO WAY..

The 4 million pre-orders was fake.  I last read that it was really slightly over 1 million, which sounds good but God of War 2 had 1 million and only sold a little over that...

Feel free to put my 6 million PS3 at march 31st 2008 prediction into your signature, mine is used for 360 predictions already.

The PS3 sold 2 million units in 2007 so far, but about half of those numbers come from people who bought into the brandname. 200k for USA and 100k for japan as it was still supply constrained in january and 700k for europe/others because it launched in march.

It will take a while until the PS3 hits 4m, once the supposedly killer apps hit, also the other 2 consoles will come out with their big guns. I assume that the PS3 hits 4m in september (I think the sales will hit record-lows during summer) and is able to sell another 1.5m until the end of the year. After the holidays demand will die down and Sony will only sell like 200k systems per month. That's how I came up with the 6m number.

Probably true about the brand name but still have to wait how much the games will sell maybe Ninja Gaiden will do good I don't know.

We have to wait and see.

Well I dont think Nintendo will have a spike in the Wii. That is because if every one is right it will still be sold out by then and no one can get it which equals no spike in sales unless there is more in stores by then.

Nintendo's estimates are always conservative, so they may in face surpass that 20M mark by 3-31-08. They had to revive their estimates for the DS upwards like 3 times last year.

I used this sites numbers as well, subtracting the latest weekly totals from the first of weekly totals of the year.

Nintendo has stepped up production and assuming demand is met in the next six months there will be plenty of room for a spike.

I agree, as long as they ship more than the 1,5 million figure, expect a small spike at MP3 release in summer and in christmas with Galaxy and Brawl. Plus, if they make the E3 with that rumored Mario Kart anouncement, sales are going to fly.

One thing that make me wonder though..By now we know that the Wii is owned by a far wider demographic than the other 2 consoles, hardcore or not. Halo 3 though a huge title, was expected by all current X360 owners. After all, the previous x-box was known as the "Halo console". So i expect it won't shift that many consoles, because a lot of the userbase got their x360 for that reason alone. (Think Frat here if you like). While it is true that lots of Wii owners did have Mario on their mind to make a simillar assumption, it come to the question on how many are buying the Wii because of it's innovation, or the first party titles.

As others have pointed out, this includes the EU launch. During a 3 week period, they sold almost 700,000 consoles in Europe alone. I don't think it's fair to simply REMOVE that sales figure, but it certainly distorts the overall picture. 

Put it this way: other than that brief 3-4 week EU release period, the 360 has outsold the PS3 consistently.
