Forums - Nintendo - WTF is wrong with brawl or my controller?

I have had brawl forever but I don't want to play it because of my damn wireless controller. Its a crappy gamestop one my 5 year old wavebird is broken and I did not have the time or money to get a new one. Whenever I play brawl with gamecube it screws up, sometimes the game reads as tilted when its not, or the C stick in the left direction stops working or it "lags" or need a few tries. Sometimes everything just stops working at once. I tired the batteries, I have been carefull this happened with one of my old gamestop controllers but it was broken from the start. I bought one controller and exchanged it because it did the same thing. I know its late to talk about brawl, but with the summer I will have more time to play games. help.

come now lets not play cheeky steve urkle. Gamecube controller...

Mine is absolutely fine with gamecube controller, so its probably a problem with your controller.. i haven't got a wavebird though so i don't know about how well that works, or how well it should be working

I think its the controller,
I have the same issues with it with the madcatz controller,
I usually blow the control plug socket and put it back in

Play with wiimote+nunchuk

is the wavebird a 3rd party controller or something. i never buy 3rd party controllers, i learned my lesson when i bought a ps2 wirelss controller.

^ Wavebird is Nintendo-made, one of the best Gamecube controllers out there, Shame they're not selling it no more,
I would have bought it. but instead I bought a third party one...

Sounds like an issue with your controller. I rarely stray from first party offerings for console controllers. The only exceptions I regularly made were the Logitech wireless controllers for the PS2 and original Xbox. Those worked splendidly.

I'd say either go back to a wired GC controller or see if you can wrangle up a legit Wavebird. Gamestop brand products sucks balls. (Once upon a time I sold a shitload of them, and many of them came back in as defective before too long. I tried warning most as they bought them, but they wouldn't listen to reason.)

The dedication you show to any particular console or company is inversely proportional to the number of times you have gotten laid. If you get laid enough, even if you prefer a certain brand, you just don't give enough of a shit to argue about it on the internet.

I have actually experienced a "lag" problem with the C-Stick while using a wavebird controller. Sometimes it didn't seem to respond to me using the c-stick. To get around it I started using the other method of using those attacks, and then I switched to wiimote+nunchuck, which works well enough once you get use to it.
