I'm a texas holdem player. been playing for years
First I thought the thread said how many pocket pickers does the VGC have.
I used to be pretty big into poker, pretty much anything (Razz, Stud, Holdem, Omaha, etc...) although I really haven't played much in a long while. Still though, I follow the WSoP, WPT, and PPT events, I just haven't had time/desire to play much lately. Although I think I personally prefer shows like HSP and Poker After Dark.
FYI - For those interested the World Series of Poker this year is 55 events and starts on the 29th of May and it runs until July with 15th which is the final table of the main event. Online coverage is available at www.pokerwire.com and www.cardplayer.com
PS - No online poker is not illegal in the US, they made it illegal for US banks to perform transactions with online gambling sites. The bill was complete BS and the PPA (poker player's Alliance) is working on getting poker exempted from it. Considering that there have been presidents, supreme court justices, and congressman going back to the 1800s that have played poker and considered it a gentlemen's game I honestly don't see what all the fuss is over. Particularly since a lot of the online sites now donate obscene amounts of money to gambling addiction services that help people overcome their gambling addictions..
| vaio said: I have played for about 5 months and I find this game fascinating and really hard to master. I love the level of difficulty to master this game and it fascinates me. Have never put my own money in, started to play freerolls and now I average 100-200 € a month Is it true that online poker is not legal in the US? @Kasz216 do you have any tips and tricks to shear? |
Tips? You seem to be doing ok... well depending on how much time your putting in.
The biggest tip is just to make sure you don't go overboard. A lot of people who are new tend to go all in with really good but not the top hand. The thing is, unless you are playing other newbies they likely aren't going to call unless they also have a really killer and often top hand.

Oh, and also, just know when it's not your day. If you lose a game or two fast, or to bad plays... just take the day off. Something just isn't right that day, be it your frame of mind, or just who's playing.
If you come back a couple days later you'll probably be fine. Keep playing however and your likely to get frustrated, your play shift too much to one extreme and you'll lose more.
Assuming your using the money you won to play more games anyway.

I have played casually for a few years, making a few hundred dollars a month. Just online.
I won 14,200 last year from the Crown Poker room.
Oh it was a good night.
But yes, i do play poker, not heaps but when i go out i always have a short try of luck.
