@ Rasz

Alright. I didn't know. It's hard to keep a post on the front page these days. I'll just add screens to bump.

Here is an ad for Valkyria in Japan.

I hope it get some advertising, but it probably won't. I'll take this over the likely nothing.

Yeah I really don't think we'll get any kind of advertisement over here in the states...as sad as that is.

I did see a video that featured some English Voice Acting a little while back, an interview with PS blog people and Sega. Wasn't anything cutscene related just the regular "here I go" when you start using a character in the gameplay, but it was still nice to see the english version coming along.

...

What happened to this game? There was a ton of hype for it and then it suddenly died.

I posted a link to that video on the third page. I couldn't embed.

I don't know. I think it's partly the fact that it got shoved in the trunk as far as E3 coverage. There isn't much new outside of the IGN videos I posted. Im doing all I can to keep the dream alive!

I am still super pumped about the game. The videos on the PSN look phenomenal.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

Most of the people who were caught up at how cool it looks realized it was a SRPG and now it's just the SRG nuts who are keeping the hype alive?

Waiting for translation can be a pain.  I mean this was hyped around the same time Operation Darkness was.

I really am hoping that Valkyria Chronicles is way better than Operation Darkness.

And yes, people don't seem excited as it is a SRPG, but, with good reviews, it has a chance to beat Fire Emblem.

Considering in the gameplay footage the camera doesn't go widely spinning off to nowhere it should definitly be better.

Fire Emblem... will be tough.

They started off about equal in japan... but lately it's dropped off compared to Fire Emblems legs due to the wii being vastly more popular

http://www.vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=Japan&game1=Valkyria+Chronicles+-+PS3&reg2=Japan&game2=Fire+Emblem+X%3A+Radiant+Dawn+-+Wii&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=100

Meanwhile Fire Emblem sold better in the US then Japan. Which is... weird for a SRPG. I attribute it a lot to the Fire Emblem name... people know the name... it was some fanatical fans.

If Valkyria doesn't get any advertising support... I just don't see the juice there... it would have to beat Fire Emblem handily to not be overcome by it at the end of the day do to superiror Wii legs.

Not sure about others since FE doesn't have others numbers for some reason. Didn't even show up in the charts at release... so with a strong Euro release maybe? Makes you wonder if Fire Emblem is just missing data... i mean...Ioi cover s games that sell like 1,000.

Honestly i don't expect it to launch any better here then it did in japan though.  Hopefully i'm wrong though.  Partly because i probably won't have a PS3 by then and i'd rather buy this for 20-40 in a store in the bargin bin then 90+ in the "rare" bin.
