Forums - Sony - Killzone 2 delayed because of "stiff competition from other AAA titles"

KZ2 should still have good sales, due to massive marketing, though I doubt on the scale of GTA. There are adverts in most programmes, and I saw like 5 ads on the way to school (admitedly I go across like the whole of London)

Depending on how the gameplay holds up, I could see it selling as well as Call of Duty 4 for ps3.

Provided the hype can last until Holiday 2009.  Releasing in February could really hurt this games sales.

 There will probably be a little price cut then, and launching in Feb allows people to get slightly bored of R2, before they buy another excellent FPS

Question still remains if that is Europe only or worldwide.

KillZone 2 will be a sub 90% on gamerankings/metacritic. I'm 100% sure that Dutch dev will seriously fuck up a couple of aspects of the game (AI, controls, frame-rate and stuff like that).

Resistance 2 will get above 90% (Resistance 1 got 86%) and will be the real "Gears of War 2-killer" of the PS3.

 It's almost as if the press had not played KZ2 two days ago, and had written reports on it....

@Munkeh,

We must be living in an alternate world where two days ago didn't happen.

im not sad because R2 and socom will make me waiting for this amazing game

I doubt Sony would voluntarily shelve a game for 5 months due to a release window. If they could get a 90+% version of KZ2 out before the holiday shopping season, I think they would do everything in their power to do that. I hope they take their time with this and give us an incredible game.

Thanks for the input, Jeff.

maybe the truth since Sony wants to get their money back
maybe guerilla is late and need more time to finish their game

Maybe Guerrilla are largely inexperienced and need to hire help? I think so, they are relatively fresh on the scene and taking on such a massive project would require some serious and deep input from the old dogs in the biz!

 I hope this massive project will give them some more experience, so that KZ 3 can be a truly mindblowing experience

I think the most logical reason is the hard time to finish this game, outsourcing IA, photoshoped pics, so far the game looks good, but the delays make me believe in a very bad planned dev time...

Maybe the project is too big and ambitious for GG, and yes, I know some of you really believes in the success of this tittle, but I´m just wondering how its going to end up??
