Wrpgs, and Jrpgs both have there advantages , and disadvantages. It seems that when making a rpg, developers have to make it the same way the rest of their region does. How many western developers, made what qualifies as a jrpg? and Vice Versa. I'm going to try not to make this too long but here is what I'm asking could a developer who is in a certain region make a rpg that has all of the aspect of the rpgs made in a different region, and qualify as a rpg of the other region? I will add regions to my question. Could a western developer, make a game that has all of the qualities Jrpgs have, and be called a jrpg, and vice versa. I've been seeing this alot lately though. Most jrpgs used to be only turn based. Now there are more and more action jrpgs. I also recognized western developers creating rpgs that revolve around the story, are turnbased, and are in the same format as jrpgs. For Example the following http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=25699. The best possible thing we could get out of this is a game that has both the benefits of a jrpg , and wrpg, and these two sub genres emerge. So thoughts, and answers?
