Bestbuy store I work at had the biggest shippment since... well, ever. all 51 of them. Sold 21 from Friday to Sunday.

That compares to 31 PS3 sold and 23 Xbox sold.

I had people asking me if GTAIV is coming to Wii, I just laughed and told them to get Mario Kart

That would be a 40% increase in hardware, which is pretty much in line with other large game releases from the past. (The Halo increase for 360 sales last year was almost exactly 40%, for example.)

The more accurate question to ask is this: what data are you basing your 410k prediction on? That's a 110% increase in sales from last week. In a year of watching the charts here at this website, there's never been any game that came close to that kind of a boost, on any platform, at any release date. That doesn't make it impossible, but statistically speaking, it's hardly likely either.

 except... the difference is, GTAIV is packed-in with PS3 hardware in Others. Unlike Halo3. so that should boost sales

 It's a little worrying how tiny the attachment ratio is for the biggest Nintendo franchise. if it indeed only sells 700-800K.

 

We all know that Nintendo's hardware is based purely on shipment

Software is hard to predict.

GTA4 360: 2 million US, 750k Europe, 2.75 million total
GTA4 PS3: 1.5 million US, 1 million Europe, 2.5 million total
GTA4 totals: 3.5 million US, 1.75 Europe, 5.25 million total

Mario Kart: 1 million US, 200k Europe, 100k Japan, 1.3 million total

Hardware:
Wii: 275k US, 200k Europe, 45k Japan, 520k total
PS3: 110k US, 170k Europe, 10k Japan, 290k total
360: 125k US, 115k Europe, 2k Japan, 242k total

With ioi saying 700k for Wii, I'm thinking I'm going to be really low with its US numbers.

For anyone estimating GTA, remember that the VGC estimates for day 1 are 2.5m in the Americas, and 1.7m in Europe
