Forums - Sony - SIXAXIS IS CHEAP!!!!

Yeah the Sixaxis doesn't have the same components the DS3 has so thats why it feels cheap and can break easily.

The Sixaxis is available for a great price now that the DS3 is out. It has got to be one of the lightest wireless controller out there.
I have not seen a six axis break down like that though.
And i've seen it take some punishment too.

Heeeeyyyy!!!! <Snap>

i love sony controllers, i swear i've dropped both of my sixaxis controllers at decent heights at least 30 times, and still no problems.

i dropped my PS2 controllers all the time as well, and they never had problems.

My Dualshock 2's are still good, the oldest one is from 2002, it rattles ominously when I shake it but it behaves perfectly fine.
The original dualshock seems lackluster in the quality department though, my first one went crazy after less than 2 years of normal use.

I had 1 third party N64 controller fail me.
That is all.

(considering it was only £5 I didn't really expect much)

In terms of wear an tear, my other 3rd party N64 controller needs a lot of pressure to get C> to work. And my original official N64 controller has a loose control stick, but it still works ok.

All other controllers have been fine, but then they have all been official Nintendo or official Sega (though the Sega MD didn't get as much time spent on it as my later consoles)

The Sega MD pad is indestructable, no kidding. I've never seen one even remotely (for lack of a better word, lol) worn.

^Well they were oddly my most worn controllers in an aesthetic sense because I got them second hand and the person before me presumably glued sandpaper to his palms for extra grip.

However they did feel like I could have thrown them full on at a wall and only the wall would suffer. (but then so have N64/GC and Wii controllers)

/revives thread

btw, a screwdriver job did fix it. So I don't have to get a DS3....for now

Good for you that it got fixed............but get one anyways :)

Wow, the sony hate in this thread. Nice to see some ban going around tho.

2 hour life on your Six Axis? Report it to sony, they might swap it out for you? My Six Axis usually last 12+ hours. (Yeah seriously I cant beleive how little juice they use. I run it dead. (it turns off dead) Then go stand next to the PS3 for 10 minutes while playing, un-plug, and play for another 1-4 hours, and then usually instead of cutting the PS3 off, I plug the controller, and go to bed... And that controller is over a year old... So dont say. 'sony put crappy batterys in there' Cause like I said, it's original, so it's almost 1.5 years old, and to still carry a 12 hour battery life... yeah, cant complain about that... at all.
