Forums - Gaming - I don't think I like Nintendo anymore....this is sad....

I can't find any reason that this isn't a joke thread. Nintendo doesn't make Carnival Games so the conclusion that you don't like Nintendo games anymore because a couple of them were outsold by a 3rd party game just does not compute for me. That and the first signs of "DARKMATURE MARIO" screams for opinions not to be taken remotely seriously.

I feel kind of the same way, and my lifelong love for Nintendo is dwindling almost by the day. I thought the N64 was great, the GC was okay and I really cannot bring myself to get excited by the Wii for some reason.
On the flipside; I love the DS!

Well, if you're lucky you'll look back on this post in 8-15 years and be able to laugh at it.

I was having the same feeling towards Ubisoft yesterday when playing RRR2(which plain sucks compared to RRR). But, if RRR3 ever comes out, i'll be the first in line, just so i could get some more RABBIDS!

I always wonder why only games which involve shooting/killing/prostitutes are called "mature games"? Why not Endless Ocean? Does the game indeed be M rated to be considered adult?

Joke topic?? You listed the over-rated but average SMG as a great game? Well have fun doing whatever else besides playing Wii.

SMG is average? What other games compare to SMG? There must be many if it's average.

Ther are a lot of games as good as SMG. I admire what they were trying to do with level design, but it didn't work out so well. It is the worst Mario platformer I have played. I mean, it is still pretty good of course, but it does not live up to its legacy.

N64 might not have sold as much as PS1, but boy did it have good games. Also, those games were what you could consider mature. Goldeneye, Perfect Dark OOT to an extent, Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat 4, Road Rash, The World Is Not Enough, Jet Force Gemini, S.W.A.R.M, Duke Nukem, Forsaken, Dark Rift (wack), Conker's Bad Fur Day, Automobili Lamborghini.......I know most of those games were by Rare but the N64 was hot. It had games across almost every genre. The Wii hasn't put that many games in the varying genres. If I could go back to those N64 days I would. WWF No Mercy all day.

Mario Kart Wii will bring you back to the darkside. It is better than the DS version in almost every way possible. Also, I think you need to update your sig. Smash is at nearly 5 million without a European release. It is pretty likely to pass 7 million at this point. If nothing else, it is not quite a shot in the dark.

Ok. Constructive criticism. First of all Carnival Games was neither developed OR published by Nintendo. Much of the shovelware these days isn't. Nintendo still offers just what they always have for the most part. How many Mario games were on the 64? One platformer, Mario party, Mario Kart, Mario sports games, etc. The 64 never saw a Metroid. The 64 had 2 Zelda games. We've had one so far (Not including Crossbow training) and will definitely have another before the generation is over. You don't like Nintendo because of sales? How does that effect how much fun you have on the systems? It doesn't. Do more research. Nintendo has always been this way.

That being said, if you want a bunch of shooters (CoD, Bioshock, Halo, etc etc), go get a 360.  But Nintendo has never had those types of games.

I find it fine.

Maybe they don't have huge games (Even though they do) but I can tell you my wife and I have a ball on the system. I guess I'm not a teenager anymore so I don't seem to complain as much.

Wait another 10 - 15 years or so and you'll be in the same boat. All these complaints are mostly from young (Teenage) gamers anyway saying thinks like 'Kiddy Games' and 'Adult games'. While I like 'Hardcore' (so to speak) games, the Wii gets it's fair share but as teenagers only look so far and seem to jump to conclusions before actually knowing what is going on, they don't seem to see these games.

It's me...  no really, it IS me!!!

Super Mario Galaxy is the greatest game of this gen. you can all go to hell.

Anyways, what does the commercial success of Carnival games have to do with your liking of Nintendo?

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
