As soon as it sells less the price will drop. It's really as simple as that.

In NA there is no reason for a price cut as it's still sold out. In Japan it's not supply constrained but it's still the dominant console and while PS3 sells much less and 360 barely registers I doubt they'll need to do a drop there either.

I think Europe could be an interesting territory though. They still win Others consistently but competition there is much more fierce. Depending on how sales play out a few months from now I wouldn't be surprised to see a price drop or new colors unveiled in Others before the holidays.

Nintendo won't drop prices, they are too conservative of a company, and anyway, when wii's only sit on shelves for about a day at max, i see no reason for them to drop prices.

I live in Europe and see no chance for them to drop the price.
There's just no reason to drop the price at all.
The only fierce competition I see in Europe is vaporware and rumors. "Someone" started a rumor saying an employee of Nintendo Europe said there would be a price drop. I could never believe such a thing, and it has yet to happen. I sure enough don't believe in a price drop.
Especially now that Wii Fit has launched in Europe.

this doesn't many anything frankly; the moment Nintendo feels they need to lower the price they will do it, whether that will be in 4 years, or tomorrow..

Nintendo would probably never need a price cut anytime soon, the wii is selling too well, above expectations

I hope at they will at least add the DS and Wii the Players Choice line.

They will only cut the price of the Wii and DS if the PS3 or the PSP catches up to a point that their dominance is in the balance.

They need to cut the price to $150 and up production to 6 million a month.

they are saying they don't need to cut the price because sales are still very high. The system is when sales go down, lower the price in order that sales go back up.
