Forums - Sony - Star Ocean PSP remakes have possible US release

Yes the Star ocean series is more so borderlining the action/rpg genre, you input the attack commands on the fly based on how much energy you have. In star ocean 3 you could set special moves based on which button you held, I think it's the same here, then you could also link special attacks into a personal chain, or chain with your allies.

That only applies to the third game.

From what I've read, TOSE simply reused the engine for the second game for both remakes, so they play exactly like that one but with some extras thrown in.

Yep , they are almost exact replicas . The only difference is that the PSP version has some updated visuals and cinematics ...

I enjoyed the third game despite acknowoledging the games flaws.  I heard the first two are even better than SO3

Well from what I read on Gamespot threads about the first one ( Jap imports ) they where telling me that the game is one of the best if not the best ... so they probably are :)

Well, some people have hatred towards SO3

Why do people have some hatred towards SO3, I have been playing it recently, and it is an excellent game, with only a few flaws (poor voice acting, running against walls and a lack of sci-fi setting for a sci-fi RPG)

The voice acting was actually pretty good IMO(though Farleen and Welch had annoying voices) and do not forget about the backtracking. The game was very enjoying but had quite a few flaws) I would rate the game an 8.5/10
