Forums - Nintendo - What do u feel when new Prince of Persia wasnt in the Wii?

Dont care I have way too many games to play anyway and besides I've never been a fan of PoP games.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Invest more time and effort into making 2 decent Prince of Persia games on the HD consoles instead of trying to get three versions of the game that would all suffer in quality.

Do you think the entire Ubisoft workforce is working on PoP, or did you not think that a seperate team could work on a Wii version?

But to answer the topic question, I was disappointed to hear it. I'll probably get a PS3 and/or 360 down the road, but I'd much rather play a (well made)Wii version of the game instead of a prettier evolution of the previous three.

Wii should have a separate team to work on a exclusive PoP game. That's what I think. All games being made for PS3 and Xbox 360 does not have to be a down converted to Wii when they can be just made for the strength of graphical powerhouses and simple but good controls.

Better a game being built from ground up for Wii with good graphics for a Wii game, good control and released at least 6 months or more after the PS3/Xbox 360 version so there would not be an impact in sales for both games and give Wii some time to sell a few more million copys. And that also what I think.

Exactly. But if all the teams started around the same time, chances are the Wii version would be finished first. The team could then move on to the next project, or some members could continue tweaking and fine tuning things until the PS3 and 360 versions are complete. Releasing a Wii PoP alongside the HD versions probably wouldn't have an effect on the sales of any version(like hurting the 360 version's sales).

It sucks. I like PoP but am not buying another system to play it. Ubisoft better make the Red Steel good or I as a Wii only owner will be very upset with them.

This must be a sign!  Just yesterday I *FINALLY* got around to trying out Prince of Persia: Sands of Time on my X-Box (I got into the previous gen really late in the cycle).  Anyways, it seemed like as soon as I was getting really into playing the game I got stuck!   I was even planning to make a thread about it (on vgcharts no less)!  It's not really stuck so much as not being able to wall jump.  Now I'd consider myself at least an average if not better than average gamer and heck, I had no problem wall jumping in Ninja Gaiden Black.  Is there some kind of secret to it?  The message states 'press A to jump...' do I need to move the analog stick left and right? (I did try this, and even pushing up as in to scale up the wall)  My guy just falls each time each attempt, a few times I got lucky and managed to string two or even THREE jumps.  I just can't seem to figure out how to do it...any help?  I'm dying to play this game--it got some really good reviews and I was enjoying it up until this part.  I even tried switching controllers! Hate to shelve this...

This rings a bell.  I remember being stuck very early on a Gamecube prince of persia not being able to get past a jump.  In the end I just gave the game out to my nephew.  I had read that it was a very good game but I never got to see it.

On topic I only just heard the news but I have to admit it does make me worry.  I am worried that despite going to end up winner of this generation by far Wii is never going to get the huge block buster 3rd games it's market position deserves.  Nintendo decided to be very different and it has paid off big time but by their 2 rivals being so similar and having sales close to each other it has an adverse effect on games that come to Wii.  I almost wish Nintendo could have taken a huge huge risk and increased production to like 5 million a month last year and cut the price of Wii (to like $150 - I'm sure they would still be making a profit).  If this had happened and they had been able to sell that amount a month they would have a market share way way over 50% and developers would have had no choice but to move major games to Wii rather than PS3/360/PC.  But of course business doesn't work like that and you can't just take chances like that.

I guess I'm a little dissapointed, haven't played a tonne of the series, but Sands of Time was a lot of fun. I guess since Rival Swords didn't do so well, while Assassins Creed did do well, it shouldn't really come as a big surprise.

I didn't care at all. I played Prince of Persia on the Game Gear and it was ok, and I've never been interested in the series since.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Or better yet, Nintendo must make the first initiative and make Disaster Day of Crisis have big advertising and show it at E3. That way, many gamers will be hyped about the game. And  make TV ads about it especially in western countries such as the United States. And revive Project HAMMER and show it at E3, if those 2 games is a million seller, core developers will not be afraid to develop core games for the Wii.

I think these 2 games was Nintendo's answer for the core gamer crowd that even core games can make it to the Wii, I dunno why Nintendo ditch these 2 games in the last minute especially project hammer

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

I felt a little surprised, and yet not too worried about it either ...

With the exception of Guitar Hero, the best playing and/or selling 3rd party efforts on the Wii have been games where there was a focus on producing an excellent game for the Wii. From what I have seen of Ubisoft they're a very good developer but all of their games feel rushed and lack polish, and I suspect that if they're focusing on a PS3/XBox 360 version of a game the Wii version would feel even more rushed and have less polish than a typical Ubisoft game.

The surprise comes from the fact that I would expect most publishers to launch multiplatform games with a Wii version from now on because of the hardware sales.

Ultimately, I'd be happiest if Ubisoft focused their efforts on producing Red-Steel 2 to their company's best ability and (hopefully) announced a game like Beyond Good and Evil for the Wii rather than producing a third rate port of a game which may have seen its best days years ago.

It's not happening. Developers don't view the Wii audience as the best place for profits on their games. Like it or not, the Wii has a stigma and likely so does Nintendo thanks to this generation.

Our only hope was E3 and Nintendo hyped Disaster Day of Crisis and revived Project HAMMER and hoping for Kid Icarus to be announced, that way, core developers will not be afraid to work on Wii when these three games will be a million seller.
